Interesting on the FP website for the 500 oil pan it says “fits all 5.2L engines” and then says “not validated for flat plane crank”. What is that referring to?

I never really noticed the 500 pan was such a cool and actual upgrade to the 350 pan.
FP added that after I cracked the pickup tube mount. Same for the FP350S pickup tube. They were great and replaced both for free. But obviously neither can handle the vibrations.

I've heard through the grape vine that the GT500 pan was actually developed for the Voodoo, but never went into production because of the cracked mounts. Notice how the later GT350s had those two lower bell housing bolts that lined up perfectly with the GT500 pan?

But who knows.

Either way, GT500 pan is great for CPC - but stick with OEM plastic pan for the FPC

The 500 oil pan. For my purposes I think it's going to be perfect. Then with the next build go all out. Maybe not your all out though haha...
keep it reasonable to keep your sanity - or join me in the insanity so I can share the misery :D

Weren't the late 2019-2020 Voodoo's built with the 2020 GT500 block? That would explain the two holes being in the right place.

The two bolts aren't related to the block - they're in the trans bellhousing and the GT500 oil pan. The pictures above are my block, which is a 2017MY

Dude you literally toasted two nice oil pan options. Wow. That sucks.

Did you have any preference for the GT500 or the FP350S oil pan?

I think the GT500 is superior. Aluminum, baffled, bigger oil pump gear (stronger than GT350 gear), etc.

Only benefit of the FP350S pan, IMHO, is capacity. It holds another quart from what I remember

You could tig in a support gusset on the new pickup bracket.

Voodoo rattled main studs out of my engine that I'm 1000% sure were torqued correctly. I'm honestly not sure there's anything you can do to reasonably prevent it cracking/fatiguing the pickup. Either way, I'd just use plastic pan plus an accusump. Less headache and safer. That way you dont have to worry about it.

Been working on a few related projects. Using these to prep for some more ambitious efforts like fenders, hoods, bumpers and inner door cards.

First up, is a carbon panel to cover my cutout in the floor

Screenshot 2025-09-17 at 4.10.56 PM.webp

next is a center console panel that angles the controls towards the driver like the gt4 car

Nice, what scanner are you using?

Just had the front of my car scanned a few weeks ago so I can tinker with some stuff this winter., but had to have someone else do it. Considering getting one of the Creality Otter Lite scanners just to get my feet wet into the scanning/modeling world again.

This thread and you guys specifically amaze me every day with your capabilities, ingenuity, (and yes, finances, LOL) and overall wow factor. Even wtih the funds, I don't think I could do what you guys acccomplish. Heck, most of the parts, ideas, and stuff like that, I don't even know how you found it or figured it out, LOL.

I've used stainless for high vibration area brackets which helped. But that's a tough one.

I'm using an Einstar scanner. its the only one I have experience with and I'm still very new with it - but its been pretty darn good. I can see why the more expensive ones are better, but the Einstar isn't particularly hard to use and its accurate enough. the more expensive ones appear to get more accurate scans with less work.

Whatcha' planning on modeling? Are you using Fusion 360?

it's absolutely wild what you can do today with a 3d scanner, a 3d printer, a welder, and some $$. I can make bespoke parts for my car in Fusin 360 (CAD software) based on a real car scan and either print it out of filament or upload it to something like Parts Badger and have it CNC'd for a few $$$. the possibilities are endless.

I'm sure the right metal would work (I don't understand metallurgy well enough to know what to use), but I'm not sure its worth the effort/risk. The composite setup is idiot proof and proven.

Composite is definitely a strong material.for vibration damping then steel. Good luck
