That thing should fly at the power level! I have you at either 963 or 983 rwhp depending on whether you use 11% or 13% power loss through the drivetrain.

I’d like to think that you should have an 8 second 1/4 mile car on your hands as it sits.
I definitely plan to race it like at the Half mile events and 1/4 mile raceways. I just wish I had friends closer to me like I had in Texas where all of my friends built, experimented, raced, blew up shit every day. For safety reasons I will keep my Maximum HP at 1500 and lower, But reliable. I have decided I will have shoulder surgery in November which makes my arm absolutely useless for a minimum of six months, so that it a sticking point for sure. I have always tried to keep all Modding for winter/down times, so that I will drive the car when weather permits and not sitting in my garage all summer LOL.

A 6 point roll bar would offer you more protection than nothing and will probably be okay for Test N Tune track outings. You can even find them with swing out and/or removable door bars. This is a position that I will eventually find myself in as well when I add boost. I don’t plan to compete with mine, so I should be fine with a 6 point (unless track officials are sticklers), but if I were to compete, I would obviously want to adhere strictly to the rulebook, because 6 point roll bars fall under a different set of rules and could actually work against you in terms of how fast you can go. The NHRA rules have been relaxed in that you can run 9’s without a cage and chute if you’re under 150 mph (I believe) and the car is a 2014+.

My son is building a ‘92 Fox Body coupe for an LS swap and he just had a 10 point cage welded in it with a halo, as well as a funny car hoop around the driver’s seat. I warned him that if/when he drives it on the street, he would be risking his safety without a helmet and no padding around those barred areas and therefore, urged him to pad them for his safety on the street.

Half mile racing is a whole other level of torture to everything in the car. Your fuel system, your cooling system, the body panels - none of it can handle it.

I can see panels potentially lifting and being an issue. Duct tape on all seams might be in order there to help mitigate that.

At about 1300 WHP you will trap around 180-190 mph. You will need a cage for sure for even half mile events. Turbo at this power level can be streetable.

Yep. Nothing about these cars were designed to go 200+. The power to do it is the easy part

I agree on the roll cage but, I sure don't want to drill, or mod my interior (Which is a conundrum to say the least). If I cannot make it fun/enjoyable to drive on the street and at the track, I will just reduce the boost and enjoy at that level. But, I know at my current HP and future HP one crash has a high probability of death unless I upgrade interior body protection. I don't drive stupid, I have had to many friends end up 6 feet under from their carelessness or lack of attention to safety. One thing in life you need to remember is, Not all "O-SHITS" Or WOW that was close are survivable.
yea, I dunno what league you are running half miles in…but any respectable one will want you in a full cage at those power levels.

the Texas mile recommends a 4 point under 200mph
the 4 point is REQUIRED from 201-230
a full NHRA 8.5 cage 231-250
and over 250 is NHRA 25.3

I have seen some 4 point cages installed in mustang and they seem not to tear allot of shit up. I will look into the viability and install.

I agree on turbo and street drivability. When I get down to researching my best options to meet my needs I will chime back in. Thanks

I will upgrade my fuel system to What David recommended I think their two side KPM 2700. I will ask what is the easiest way to run my PWM controller. My current job would never allow me to bypass safety because Shit Does Happen

Personally I would look into a self contained surge system fuel safe or something

Have you taken your current setup to the track? I think you may be surprised how fast (and fun) your current setup already is.
