As my first post on this forum, I want to say a huge thank you to all the contributors in this lengthy thread! I'm on page 381, but wanted to jump ahead. Will keep reading till caught up.

I recently purchased a 2022 Mach 1 10r80 car and was researching this kit before even owning an S550. Is the below still a good way to go?

G3 Kit
120 MM pulley
Standard impeller
Tial BOV
GT500 injectors
Vortech BAP
Synchro gears
G3 Intercooler

I do not have E85 available and basically looking to leave the car stock other than the ESS kit and a few Steeda chassis parts. Plan on having Wengerd tune it with an RTD3.

Anything missing other than spark plugs and thicker weight motor oil? For the plugs, did the 6510's or the Ford Racing plugs end up being best? Oh, and thinking of going with open breathers on the valve covers and seeing if the smell bothers me. If it does, then I'll look into something else. Currently have the Ford Racing passenger side PCV setup installed.

As for the use of the car, just weekend joy riding in the mountains and will probably find a dragstrip to make a few passes for fun.

Thanks again to all of you!
I have the same car and same setup. You won't be disappointed. Plugs (6510) and catch can setup for boost for sure. You will smell the open breathers, but might be able to live with it. Also, you will want to get some sticky rubber very soon. Wengerd will have you dialed in first or second try on the tuning side.

Thinking about a g2 kit. I really don't want to mess with the cats or opgs.. All things considered I would like 550-600 whp. I've considered the roush kit from Lebanon but I've heard horror stories about failed cats but that kit is 10k installed. Ess would be lighter and cheaper. And easier on the 10r80.

Thanks! Thinking about just going straight to a drag pack set up to put on if I go to the track. Hopefully the traction control can keep my alive with the PS4's.

I would imagine somewhere around 7k ish is max boost. But honestly, it comes on way faster than I thought. 3k you can already feel it starting to pull. Way more than when it was n/a at that point. And the noises are chefs kiss.
There is no "Max Boost" per engine RPM.

The blower will make more PSI the faster you spin it, well beyond redline. Imagine that at 7000 RPM engine speed, your blower is spinning at X RPM with the 120mm pulley. Now you drop down to a 100mm Pulley. Does the blower stop making boost when it is being spun at the same speed as the 120mm was at 7000 RPM engine speed? (say the blower reaches that speed at 6000 RPM engine speed now with the smaller pulley) Nope, it makes more boost at 7000 RPM than the 120mm pulley did. Eventually you can exceed the efficiency range of the impeller, but you aren't anywhere near that with a 120mm pulley and stock crank damper.

There is a new G2 kit set up on the market here.

@Brevin , good day

regarding boost loss,
We fixed vacuum, there were problems, but still no boost,

the last thing is my Summit BOV
maybe stock spring is “tired” and don’t keep pressure? (I think it is 3.5psi in stock) As when I throw pedal, I don’t hear BOV sound any more..

I bought 12psi spring, can you advise, is it ok?

I didn’t change plugs or oil when I installed, also no catch can. What problems could this cause? G3, 120 pulley.

No you can’t use the 12psi spring.

Potential engine damage from plugs. Oil would be least of my concern. No catch can, are you using breathers at least?

Nope, what’s a breather and what does it prevent?

What engine damage from plugs?

You will want to install the colder heat range spark plugs. Wengerd recommends NGK 6510's gapped at .026" I believe. The colder plug transfers heat faster to avoid detonation when in boost.

Breathers allow the crankcase pressure to escape. Some go that route (which can cause odors and possibly leak oil) and some go with a catch can set up and gut the internals of the passenger side PCV valve so that the pressure can flow freely through it.

I don't have an ESS kit yet so I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing that the instructions have you route the PCV line back to in front of the blower. If that's the case, not having the breathers or a catch can would have oil vapors and possibly mist blowing into the blower. Not ideal in the least.

Question...

I see this listed in the items included in the ESS kit -
" -Oil breather assembly designed for boost. "

What is that?
