All the people hating on roll racing just can't accept that others can have fun racing in a different way than a dig...
Saying people roll race because they can't launch when a majority of sports cars are auto is stupid. Not hard to launch an auto car as long as you have tires and suspension to keep up with the power.

Dragy is useful. Really good for timing your performance on the street and how fast the car is going without traction as an equation aka 60-130.

Quarter mile seems to be the most accurate and most reliable. Even though 60-130 takes the launch out of the equation your results vary much more.

Roll racing, the art of people who have no fucking clue how to drive, but their dad bought them a fast car
Yep roll racing is so lame....

Also is it really that hard to launch an auto mustang considering that's what a majority of people have? You can only bring driver skill up with a manual car where you have to know how to launch and be consistent to do good in dig racing. For autos you just load your torque converter and go.

Dragy is very useful on a race track using the Dragy Lap app. It is a very accurate lap timer which incorporates video, speed, g force and other data for a reasonable cost. Most of the other track gps systems cost significantly more. I like Dragy. It’s not just for drag/roll racing.

I don't think anybody was really hating on roll racing....racing like against another car. It is fun when it happens. I think it was more about the 60-130 craze/fad where my guess is people are out mostly just blasting to 130 on public roads racing nothing but themselves a good chunk of the time

Majority of people CANT launch even with an Auto. So many infact car companies saw it as a marketable and gave us Launch control..for a price 😁🫢

I think I will get the draggy box though. I decided it might be a little gimmicky. But I do like data and record keeping.

You don't think???

Hell most don't even need a sticky tire! Its sissy boy racing for kids that have no clue how to race or drive and endangers everyone else on the road.

Watching guys like you at the cars and coffee it seems pretty difficult for some, is your car still making half the power it should?

I am absolutely hating on roll racing
I know. That's why I quoted you. BTW, I am 54 years old and my father didn't buy me my car. Mine is built to do both roll and drag races.

The 60-130 videos I watch too are so different. Some guys start near 60 and punch it. Others are already accelerating through 60mph when it starts counting. Surely that cannot be accurate at all lol.
It doesn't make a difference unless you start at like 59.9 mph. Once you're WOT you're WOT (aside from a couple minor things like auto transmission weirdness or your motor taking a second to hit full load)

Considering you have never seen me drive this is funny. Listening to guys like you who can’t let others enjoy their cars or how they want to race is sad. Sounding like some old head stuck in their ways 🤣

And no idea have to wait until winter to see what the car will do. Still over 100 here.

As others have stated, 60-130 times are a better representation of power than drag racing. There are more variables to account for in launching a car than one that is already moving. Can you really say that X mod gave you 1/10th better 60ft times or did the track manager finally apply the VHT correctly. Or was it because the humidity was lower than your last attempt?

60-130 times can be repeatable showing actual gains whereas a drag strip can be heavily influenced by driver skill and track prep.

Discounting roll racing simply as “people don’t know how to launch” is akin to saying “people with cats are dumb”. There’s no factual information to support this type of Ad Hominem fallacy. It’s the same tired old argument people give for Dyno numbers. When used properly, a Dragy is a tool to identify where your gains are being made….just like a Dyno.

Drag racers are simpletons! Real enthusiats run the road course! :cwl:
I DO like to turn the car once in a while as well, which is one of the reasons even though I have drag radials with Forgestar D5's back and front, the fronts are 8.5 inch wide. I don't do skinnies.

To each is own. Do what makes you smile. Personally I like my racing to include everything the car and driver has to offer. Left and right turns, braking, acceleration. Hand ,foot, eye coordination. And endurance. I used to drag race back in the 90s. Then someone showed me how to turn.
