How long do you intend to keep you current mustang

I don't know if ford was lying or what, I just remember seeing in the build and price back then around 18-19 that they were forged. And some one had those wheels and either weighed them or dug up the published weight IIRC they were around high 20's low 30's just a couple of pounds lighter than the standard PP1 wheels. I know real forged wheels can be as low 21-22 lbs a wheel, far lighter than the factory offerings.

I had both types of PP1 wheels and the split-5s were imperceptibly lighter than the default, when wrangling them around to put on/off the car. I think Ford was claiming "low pressure cast" was "forged". It's not, of course, but the tech writer wouldn't know what the terms meant anyway.

I have always had a Mustang in my life since I was 16. Being 42 I just now realized that I've spent more of life with one than without one. And besides family I can't say that about anything.

Will I have this current one forever? It's possible. But I do know I'll always be driving a Mustang as long as they keep making them.

I’ve had a 2012, 2014, 2015, 2019, 2021, and currently a 2022 GT. No plans on selling but may add a Gen 2 M6 to the stable again.

I’ve thought about this often, so I bought my 2015 GT premium “automatic” new, I’ve never owned an auto Mustang out of the 3 I’ve had. I still want a manual car, but I’m keeping my ‘15 forever. I’ll probably buy at least 2 more Mustangs in the next 8 years or so, I plan on a low mile 1987-1993 coupe (all stock) and a 21-23 Mach 1 to play with. Plans are to have them all UDDUP, then my son can do whatever he wants with them.

I generally trade in after a year or two if I grow bored. The longest duration for owning a car was my 2006 Evo IX SE, which I sold in 2010. It was a HUGE mistake as 2 months later I received orders to Japan and quickly found out that there was a lot of things that I could have sent back to the states for it.

Fast forward to now, everything that this Mustang offers fits the bill. My kids love it as well and don't mind sitting in the back, which is a huge plus.

Well since at 98k, I’m having a new engine, transmission, radiator, cradle, rebuilt diff… all done now, I think I’ll keep it a little longer.

Considered selling a couple years ago but its just too damn much car, too fast, and too fun to give up and replacing it anything of similar fun would cost more than I’m spending to refresh it.

… but if the right kind of offer comes along…

I've put a lot of time and money into the car already and plan on adding a supercharger eventually. There's really nothing that compares to it for under 100k. I'd love to have a GT500, but it's pretty expensive to buy and to insure. Same for my dream car...I've wanted a GT-R for years now, but it's just too $$. My detailer actually just asked me this same question as it was in for a ceramic touch up. Didn't really have a good answer.

I bought my Evo brand-new in 2008, and still have it. 16 years old and still has the original engine and transmission. My 2020 Mustang should last at least that long, right?

P.S.: the intern et at work is so bacd, i type and the screen doesn't respont in real time
and it's not becuase of heavy usage. Most people have gone home

I'm over nine years in with my '15 (longest tenure of a Mustang for me so far), I'm not sure how long I'll keep it. I finally cracked the 14K mile mark recently, so realistically it will last my lifetime. Not to mention it's been a favorite since it's not a special edition unlike my previous steeds, and thus I've had a lot of fun modding it to its current state without fear of mucking up a possible collector's item (that it's actually a 1-of-1 car is the ultimate irony).

But if the right classic came around, I might punt the '15 for it as I have no more room for more vehicles. I still keep looking for a base GT500 occasionally too, but considering how much I drive the '15 I find it hard to justify it with all my other interests.

a very nice '70 Boss in yellow was on Mecum recently. Only $80,000.
I thought I heard 455 or something Windsor from the announcer but I'd have to go back and re-watch.

650 exterior made my wife check if it even had exhaust pipes. Interior leaves a "work from home"/"mobile office"/"office space" impression.

So I do not think there's better mustang for me for now.

Almost anything new ICE is powered by something like 1 liter 3 cylinder, turbo, cvt, cylinder deactivation, start/stop, electronics that scans you, makes sure you keep both hands on the steering wheel, pay attention, drives for you, but holds you responsible...

I got stocked with some reasonable cars for my entire family and plan to stay quiet for a while.

I love the way the gen 3 motor revs.

Haven't even tuned it yet and just hit 50k miles. That's coming soon. Can't see myself selling it. Love this car.
