We have a 2020 Ecoboost Convert Prem. Installed the Ford Performance Strut Tower Brace Kit (note in the instructions it states "If your car is factory equipped with a steel cowl extension it is the same as Ford Performance steel cowl extension. Removal is not necessary." this is correct as I measured them both with calipers") seems to maybe, to have taken som flex out. Also on this site severial have had problems with shearing off the strut bolts and do not recomend torqueing to the factory spec of 41 lb.ft (55 Nm) IIRC they went with 35 lb.ft (47.45 Nm) if you shold shear them there are repairs on the site just search.

PS I also installed jacking rails which may have helped stiffen the ride.
+1 on the torque spec recommendation. Few of my bolts aren’t torqued to spec because of how sketchy it felt to keep tightening

I torqued mine to factory spec and didn’t have an issue. I’ve removed it a couple times and always torqued to spec. Always removed the nuts by hand, I wouldn’t hit them with an impact personally.

Yes. I have a convert also. They need all the help they can get

Same here but as just reiterating what others have posted about their horror with shearing these bolts.

I am surprised that Ford did not mention in their installation kit to also get the firewall reinforcement metal piece that provides a more substantial mounting for the K Brace. They are somewhat square looking and mount under the cowl. Mine came with one. GT vert.

There's a vendor selling lightly used take-off GT strut braces for 50 bucks on Ebay. Has a ton of them. Evidently a supercharger installer pulls them off (top mount superchargers don't leave room for the bar). I got my 50 dollar one mostly for looks. I don't have the K (cowl) brace, because my car is a base GT and I just didn't want to pay $250 for a piece of metal that probably does nothing and is invisible (hidden under plastic cowl). So, I got the cheap (lightly) used brace. I did have to order some nylon spacers on Amazon to get the driver's side of the brace to set properly level due to me not having the K/cowl brace.... If you want more info let me know. I just did this a couple of weeks ago.

Edit: I'll just add the info.... You need this for $50 + 25 shipping:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/196385227146

Next, you need two (not 4, your car will have two of them) nuts that look like this... You can get them from your local Ford dealer for like 67 cents each. Do not order them online... they are out of their mind. You could also go to a good hardware store (not Home Depot), but if you want the exact ones, Ford dealer has them. Part #
W712334-S440 (don't pay eBay rip-off artist prices, go to your parts counter)

Then, I got these Nylon spacers. I think I ended up using the thinnest one. Either way, something convenient to keep in your toolbox. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B099HLBT3X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The little cowl piece is like 40 bucks.

I'm somewhat surprised as well, as the premium GT (non-PP at that) comes with that geometry reinforcement. The triangulation seemed to be important as a factory install on my '70 Mustang, so it's not a new concept by any stretch.

But when you think about it, a tower brace without firewall reinforcement may be acceptable on the Gen 6 in drag racing (which Mustang owners are more likely to do than HPDE's). Those who run HPDE/track days would be more apt to benefit from the firewall reinforcement.

Does anyone know if the firewall brace also works on EB verts? I’d like to add the FP tower brace and k-brace.

Oem strut tower brace in pic 1, current configuration in pic 2. Unless you have a roll cage you aren't going to take a convertible on a HPDE. So mine is functional but more for looks.
