Looks like EPA/CARB related testing to see how well their products hold up. Pretty normal, and the test cars would not be a representative example of a typical use car. IF they even had any 2018's laying around.

If they wanted to test how well they are holding up, it seems strange that they specifically mentioned that they wanted 2023 models only. Maybe they are trying to figure out if anyone actually kept installed the stupid carbon filters that they added.....

Maybe this is an old letter. Regardless, they are testing how emissions hold up in the real world.

Not sure how old that letter is but mine specifically said 2023 Mach 1's in the Detroit area.

When I first got my 2020 I got the same letter. Also was not interested in giving up my brand new car to them or anyone else.

A few days ago I received a letter from ford/roush requesting the use of my car for emissions testing. They also said that the car will be fully insured and returned to me in about 3 weeks to a month. I tossed it in the trash, don't know why I was selected, is it because I have a Mach 1, a 23, a 23 mach 1 or my close proximity to Detroit, who knows? Anyway my car now has long tubes and is tuned for E-85 so I don't want ford and/or roush poking around and fucking up my tune. Anyone else get a letter also?

Hell no, this is for sure for the emission testing for the 22-23 Mach 1s. Whipple needed the same but at least they provided the kit half off for the person that donated their car. It was someone on this forum that was the lucky one.

I've received two of these letters over the past year or so. 2019 GT here in Ohio. $400? Hell no! No one is touching my car unless they want to pay off my house or something

On second thought, I think I'd settle for a Stage 2 Whipple. Final offer!

They should really check Turo not only for possible rentals but also to see a realistic day rate for a 2022+ Mach 1. My guess is $400 only gets you one day, maybe two...assuming one is even available. Also a rental Fusion SUV or Pickup??? If you're offering a comparable car that's one thing but presenting a cheap loaner to someone with an enthusiast car is just out of touch. This whole letter is out of touch. Maybe they should have focus grouped it as much as they did the S650...or maybe they did.

Jack Roush built an empire of various businesses and one of them is a branch that does testing and development for all the OEMs. As Ford keeps cutting their internal resources, outside contractors and suppliers are taking on more of the tasks Ford used to do internally.

I have been receiving this letter for the last 3 or 4 years for my 2017 gt. They offered more than the $400, they are offering for the mach 1. I believe the last offer was $750, plus the use of the loaner car, and pickup and delivery. I don't want a stranger driving my car.

I actually own a 2018 Roush Stage 2 and I've never received a letter like this from Roush. Sounds fishy to me.

I got a letter like that from Toyota years ago (for my 2000 Tundra). It wasn't for 3 weeks, I didn't follow up...

I don't think they could afford me. I can't imagine letting any stranger drive my car for a few days or weeks. I have a hard time letting family drive my car and even then, I'm in the car with them. Nobody drives it without me.
