Device should be here late Saturday so expect some tuning updates Sunday.

Hopefully the base tune will be easy as I just have to copy values from other tunes to my file but like everything with this car I doubt it will go smoothly. My luck the pcm will brick and the car will explode as I crank it

You're not going to brick it.

Even if you do brick it PCMtec software has a "unbrick" mode.

I've never bricked one but I have had a couple of bad flashes due to low battery voltage.

I learned how to use "unbrick mode" in my work parking lot lol. Wouldn't recommend that experience to anyone else

Apparently there’s a layered operating system and when you flash it, one layer controls the flow of data to the other and it never shuts down nor is replaced. So as long as that top layer works you can’t corrupt the pcm control os or cal data.

I like how everyone is reassuring me the pcm won’t brick but not that the car won’t explode 😂
Make sure you read up on the MAP points. Some real good threads on HP tuners forum.

Won't be perfect but the aftermarket cams you have should work with stock timing.

Looks like comp cams has been sold to a financial group and the recommended specs are no longer on their site. Hopefully it was included with the cams.

Bought the cams third party and didn’t see any specs but I’ll check the box and send them an email

Pretty hard to blow up an NA e85 coyote. But not impossible….
60% fuel trims is the limit I’ve found. I think as long as my fuel trims aren’t completely wack and my knock sensors aren’t going off a ton I’ll be okay.

I mean that other tuner had the car at 105% duty cycle some how and it was still fine

It's tough to brick the PCM. I have flashes the car over 100 times atleast. I have ran into every situation probably possible and it's very tough to brick.

The cookbook is a good start if you truly don't know much. Tuning a boosted car is a lot more work compared to an N/A and the cookbook covers some of it, but there are easier and faster processes out there for a lot of the changes that are needed compared to the cookbook. The cookbook also relies on a dyno to be utilized for adjusting torque model. I think they over complicate it but you can definitely tune it without a dyno.
