Considering that 13k in 1990 is a little over 23k in today's money, a base GT is kind if a bargain when you compare the two on merit.

Are you saying you paid 23k for your GT?

I think the point is some people would rather have fewer standard features included in the base price of the car so that the car could cost closer to 23k.

I agree with that as well. In my younger days I just wanted a car that was fast and cheap (on the wallet, not on the build); if I wanted anything else in it I would mod it myself. Now getting closer to my 40s I kind of prefer comfort in the cabin with all the tech plus the sports car speed. I am the type that will fully load a car but Ford really should separate all of these features out into individual options instead of this take it or leave it mentality.

I have to admit even though I complain about the loads of standard equipment, I do really like the car. And I like the loads of standard equipment.

I also doubt the Mustang would generate enough sales to justify its existence if it only came as a bare-bones V8.

So there's a $9,000 pricing delta between a '90 GT and a '15 GT. What does $9000 get you before the bells and whistles? A chassis that's far more capable right out of the box by an exponential amount in every way possible; an additional 200bhp and 100lb-ft, better brakes, better suspension... everything. Not to mention how much safer it is. See what would happen to the passengers if the two got into a head on collision with each other.

Then you can talk about all the other bells and whistles. It's a relative steal. If someone said you could buy a brand new foxbody GT for $23k, or you could go ahead and get a base GT for $32k, the majority of people would call you crazy for opting for the former.

I don't even bother responding. His comments are often from the moon or something. I mean who here buys 2000 buck leather jackets? And how is that a point of reference for a leather interior on a car? Especially a mustang. Just bizarre sometimes. Somethings not right there, and I ain't trying to figure out what.

Sorry man, but if I'm risking rattles and noises by having mechanics take apart my interior, I want the best mechanics in the business doing it, the type of guys who charge $300 an hour for their work. I'm not gonna risk them leaving a bolt loose and having to deal with a buzzing sound for the rest of my life. And it costs me a couple hundred dollars to get a suit properly tailored; the tolerances on upholstery are way tighter than that and there's a lot more material to be tailored.

Again, I'm not a modder, so I wouldn't do a custom interior, but I spent five grand on my living room couch, and I easily spend twice as much time in my car as on my couch. Seems only sensible to spend twice the money.

I ordered the base package, the pp and the recaros only. All business, you don't need any of this touch screen heated and cooled seat crap on a Mustang. My only regret is the lack of Sirius on the base radio, but parts department says the kit is coming.

One thing I can't help but chuckle about is the vacuum gauge on the PP cars.

A vacuum gauge?!? What the hell for? Unless you're trying to diagnose a problem or are a hypermiler, I really don't see the point of it. I guess it's fun to watch the needle swing around. For like a day.

You seem a little pampered lady ;-) Like I said, there's really something wrong with this one, and I sont have the patience to try to figure it out. It spends countless posts trying to put on airs and buys a Mustang as a car. Just an odd ball all the way around. You're not the worth the effort of trying to figure out what's going on in that brain to come up with some bizarre comments. And 100% proof to me that people who shouldn't be paid what they are in society are doing so based off something other than intellect. And then putting on airs to boot. *rolls his eyes*
