Good question! Ok so let me explain. I know some people at Katzkin and Ive done many before so Ill give you the exact deets on my kit. The basic katzkin leather seats come with standard leather on the faces and high quality vinyl on the sides and seat backs. The higher quality will have a bit more leather, and the absolute highest tier will be 100% leather including seat backs, sides, and rear seats. Thats the one they are making for me. In addition, I am taking it a step further and doing Tuscany leather faces (which is their highest quality leather, its like BMW Nappa leather, its that good. So mine is tuscany faces and leather everywhere else. They just released the 2015 Mustang seat designs so Im an early adopter. And their seat patterns match the Premier trim GT premium seats with he extra stitching :-) Oh and I can go two tone to my hearts extent choosing from the Tuscany colors but Im going straight black (race red car). Oh I forgot to mention, mine includes leather door panels too and I got the seat heaters.
Man I bet those are going to be beautiful! It is good to have friends in high places! Thanks for the info and I look forward to the pictures after install. :headbang:

By the way the GT-350 just like it's rival the z28 both have the basic radio. Some feel less tech = more HP.

It is. I got a good deal though for the super upgraded package around a grand for the kit with the install being taken care. That would normally be around 500 for typical buyers. So 1500.
That actually is not bad at all, even at 1500.00, for their product.

That sounds like a pretty good deal, for high quality work. If you figure that a nice quality leather jacket will run you around $2,000:

And that a full leather interior would use about four times as much leather as a jacket, then that all the leather working would be custom, in addition to the installation including ripping out the entire interior and replacing it... I'd figure that a good, solidly custom leather interior should run you around $10,000-$12,000. So you're getting a pretty fantastic deal, there.

I am a fan of the new Mustang buuuuut:

Doth I protest too much? (The single worst question you can ask on the Interweb.)
Whaaaa. Packages make cars cheaper as a whole and reduce ordering/inventory headache, but I can't speak to the wisdom of how they're bundled on the Mustang. I'm sure Ford bundled them as to make the most money of most people's psychology of options, as any intelligent company is want to do. Swap the exhaust or simply delete the muffler - it's been that way since at least 05, if not 99. If you want a stripper with a good radio and exhaust, order a non-premium and spend half the 5k on exhaust and components - this car's been more about the aftermarket since forever. Turn the headlights off 'auto' mode if you're so worried about the car getting you caught when cheating on your wife, or whatever you 'sneak' around to do. /rant

I'll give you that the clutch is/has been suuuper tall and that's annoying considering the bottom 50% is empty, except when starting the car. Still wondering if there's an 'amplifier' for clutch action of sorts.

10-12k for a leather seats in a Mustang??? Haha only if it were the hide of an endangered species or if you covered everything, and I mean everything, in leather. Katzkins usually price out (MSRP) at around 2195.00 for 2 rows of seats and 2895.00 for 3 rows for their high end stuff. I am sure that can get more expensive but not likely the levels you are talking about in a Mustang. I know you have argued this before but it is just a little crazy pants.

I don't even bother responding. His comments are often from the moon or something. I mean who here buys 2000 buck leather jackets? And how is that a point of reference for a leather interior on a car? Especially a mustang. Just bizarre sometimes. Somethings not right there, and I ain't trying to figure out what.

I ordered the base package, the pp and the recaros only. All business, you don't need any of this touch screen heated and cooled seat crap on a Mustang. My only regret is the lack of Sirius on the base radio, but parts department says the kit is coming.

Umm no, The whole selling part of a mustang was a v-8, RWD, duel exhaust bare bones vehicle that was inexpensive and fun to drive. My 90 Lx 5.0 was 13K brand new. All this tech does nothing but drive up the price of the car.

Considering that 13k in 1990 is a little over 23k in today's money, a base GT is kind if a bargain when you compare the two on merit.
