I've really only seen a couple guys on here chime in with regards to either, so I was curious what the consensus is between them overall. I currently have Eibach Sportlines installed by a previous owner and I'd prefer a bit more height. I like the J&M price, honestly, but if Steeda is that much better I'll make it work with the budget. LOL

I have the Steeda minimum drop springs and they are great for what I use my car for, they are stiffer than stock springs but still comfortable on the street, the rear springs are great for the strip as they match the drag springs rate in the rear and 50 lbs stiffer than the front drag springs which equates to better handling on the street. I currently run 275/35r20's and my fender gap is 1/4 - 1/2". Overall I have been very happy with the springs, they pair very well with pro-action shocks and struts.

Sorry if the original post sounds derpy. Wanted to make sure I got it out of my head before bed. LOL

So, my time on the strip is very likely to be virtually nil, which is why I'm looking to replace the Sportlines. I want something a touch lower than stock but definitely higher than the 1.5" front/1.3" rear drop I have now. Went over a speedbump on Saturday and heard the ping of my mufflers just grazing it. 😅 I don't want anything particularly crazy, which is why the J&M springs are high on my list since they also don't cost a ton. I just want to make sure that I'm not being blinded by economical pricing and that the J&Ms are indeed good springs or if I REALLY should go with the Steedas. I eliminated the BMRs from my list since I see a lot of complaints about squeaks and clunks.

It seems that the car is also still riding on the original Motorcraft dampers and they're just toast. I've got a replacement set of Koni STR.T struts and shocks on the way since American Muscle thought it was a good idea to ship a "kit" in the four separate display boxes made of super-thin cardboard and no internal support rather than in a single box that I would expect a kit to come in... Hoping the replacements show up in good shape and proper boxes instead of full of holes like the stuff I shipped back to them since I made a big stink about it, including lots of photos.

I ordered from AM kind of on autopilot since a lot of stuff my brother and I had ordered over the years before he moved down to Tennessee came from there and everything was awesome, but that was before the S550s were even a thing.

But, anywho, I'm figuring I have some time to order some springs while waiting for the dampers and get it all installed at the same time.

What he said.

The Steeda min drop springs are just perfect. Slightly lower stance, perfectly balanced spring rates, and still comfortable enough on the street for daily use. I paired these with the Ford Performance track dampers and I couldn't be happier. The factory dampers are not so good when you change to lowering springs.

So, @tj@steeda will be happy to know that I gave @beefcake some more money and got the Steeda minimum drop springs. 😂

That said... Now I need to figure out which isolators I need for the rear since apparently there's multiple variants. 🤨 And are these even actually correct?

Right: FR3Z-8321-A
Left: E1GZ-8321-A
Upper: JR3Z-5586-A
or
DG9Z-5586-A
or
FR3Z-5586-C AND FR3Z-5586-B
Fortunately the front seems much simpler with two parts, KYB SM5820 and Ford DG9Z-8321-A. LOL

Bump because I'm pretty sure I need new isolators and I don't want to get the car all tied up in not having everything done right with the right parts.

Anybody have guidance on which are the right bits for the Steeda springs (I imagine factory stock for the GT/CS)?

What made you pick FP struts over the Steeda proaction or proactive?

Sorry for the late reply. I typed it up and forgot to post it.
My main decision was based on availability and price/performance. I live in Canada and buying ANYTHING from Steeda is hugely expensive with exchange and shipping. I bought the track struts from a local performance shop that was running a sale. The rears, I bought used. Couldn't be happier with them.

Thanks Stangtime! Makes sense. I am in between the Steeda minimum springs and the bmr minimum springs right now. I like the bit of rake you get with BMR but Steeda has a bit more spring rate. Im glad your combo works out, thats probably the one I will be going with as well.

Steeda min drop springs and the Ford track dampers/struts are a perfect pairing.

If you want a set of J&M's, pay shipping and I'll give them to you.

What is the spring rate on them?

Steeda is 800 rear and 200 front.
