Experiencing some color regret. I’m just starting to fall out of love with the Oxford White if I’m being honest. Sure, it looks clean and I know it’s beautiful with the stormtrooper look. But it just won’t ever shine the same way as a black car :( It kind of annoys me if I’m honest. And where I’m from everyone and their grandmothers drives a white gen 3. So I think I’m despising the color from a combination of the commonality and the shine.

Thought about doing a matte ppf on the white parts of the car and a gloss ppf on my black accents to make my paintjob a little more interesting.

I think it’ll make the car more unique and might make me fall in love with the OW again. Another part of me just wants to dip or wrap the car in black since that was always my favorite color.. Just think that up close nobody is going to mistake it as a real paintjob so that’s a bummer.

I would love to hear what you guys have to say to make me fall in love with OW so any inputs and recommendations are appreciated.

I think this is where a friend who is good with Photoshop can come in handy. :giggle:

My initial thought is an off-center, stripe across the top of the car, in some shade of green, possibly with some pearl in it. But it would meet and traverse the black top. So...

* Edit: red stripe, which transitions to a slightly different red across the top? matte white body with gloss red stripe, possibly pearl. Across the black roof only, the same red stripe, matte?

Matte PPF across the body, with a white matte vinyl wrap top, followed by the off-center, over-the-top stripe. But I'm not sure how well the roof wrap will match the body panels.

Alternatively, a logo (small) on the side front quarter. Or a stripe or series of stripes along the rocker panels.

Some initial ideas anyway. I'm having difficulty attempting to include or compliment the hue of the roof.

When shopping for my car, white was one of the colors I narrowed down to. I had a white 1972 mustang with light blue stripes, accented with red pinstripes and it cleaned up well. You may want to check out the 1971-1973 Mach 1's and get an idea of the stripes Ford used. Your hood is similar in that style.

Wheels are everything on a white car. I personally love bronze wheels on white. Then do some stripes, or maybe try wrapping the hood in black since you have black roof already. A nice spoler/wing would be a good accent.

Today, with the advent of good car wraps your choices are limited only by your imagination and wallet. If where you are everyone has a tasteful storm trooper car then go a full on, outrageous, Star Wars theme. Or do a huge running pony across the hood/top/sides, or go traditional with some sort of retro stripe like others have suggested.
Really you can do anything you want and are willing to afford and if you get bored again in a couple of years, peel it off and start again.

Some good suggestions in here. Start with accents, UPR makes the badges in all different colors. Lots of cool wheel examples here too. You can do just about any color you want, maybe start with blue or red and have the wheels and badges match. A quick search in the wheel section will give you lots of ideas

There are more things you could do to build on your stormtrooper theme if you wanted to ? (and all quite cheaply).

Black hood vents, black or white grill pony, white calipers (if you are brave), black wrap the front bumper centre bar etc.

Black stripes actually work very well with a back roof proving that the stripes do not need to carry over the roof - Ford even made them like that.

CFTP with OE painted roof and OE painted stripes :

Failing that and if you really wanted to stand out ...

  :giggle:

Or if you really wanted to dazzle (blind) everyone in the Bahrain sun ...

But that will highlight every body imperfection that you might have ...

If you are genuinely considering a full wrap, I really liked that colour that Stangmode used on his 500 :

^^check out Big Worm’s site for stripe options. Lots of pictures there for ideas. Quality of their stripes is top notch also, had them on my 2016.

Anyone reading this thread had their ride plasti-dipped? I considered that for another car I had. Ended up just doing the wheels. The wheels looked great and the finish held up really well for the three years I had it until I sold it.

I highly recommend getting your white car wrapped OP. That way you can pick out the exact color you want.

Or you could be like me... who also went through the same problem as you. 😖 Expensive though.. and a long irritating wait.

7 years ago I bought my 2016 Guard Metallic Green convertible. Absolutely love the car (still own it but in the process of selling it to my neighbor) but it was about 6 years ago that I just didn't like the green gray color any more and wanted to get a different color. Something bright and playful, off the grayscale colors. If it had more green pigment in it I think I would have liked it more but I didn't like the gray at all. Same color undertone as magnetic metallic. Everyone continues to say that it is a gorgeous and sophisticated color (which irritates me because I don't like it lol) meanwhile I think, well the mustang isn't exactly a sophisticated sports car? IDK my opinion.

Then in 2020 I bought my 2006 V10 viper coupe. Launch edition so 1 of 200 made. Metallic blue with a light blue pearlescent and white over the top stripes. Wow fantastic vehicle and color combo, but the awesome color made me hate the Guard mustang color as it made it even more dull in my mind than before when sitting next to a nice bright medium blue car.

All this to say, in the end I bought another 2016 Competition Orange mustang a few months ago. I couldn't be happier now. Got my blue and white viper and my orange and black accent stripes mustang. Yes I could have just wrapped my guard car and it would have been MUCH cheaper than buying another car, but my neighbor/friend really wanted it for himself so I decided to go this route. I would not recommend it though. It was rather painful.

Colors are very personal, it definitely matters. You have to see it all the time anyway. It is worth it to get the color you really want.
