Hmmmm. I had a head gasket replaced under warranty and my paperwork says 2 years warranty on the repair. That's what I based my comment on. The smart thing to do, as I said in that comment, is to ask the dealer.
But even a 1 year warranty on a transmission repair on a used car is still decent piece of mind.
If you paid for the head gasket job, then yes it would be 2 year/unlimited miles. It is different when something is done under factory warranty.

I paid nothing. It was a warranty repair on my EB. Coolant leak into cylinder #3. Paperwork says 2 year warranty.

2018 PP2 301A with Recaros and AE here. Car has been great, just over 22K now. I absolutely love this car. My dealer recently offered me $36,500 for mine (about 2 months ago). To me with current used values and the rare PP2 package, it’s worth more than that to me. But, without prejudice, I’d say with 40K, if in very clean condition, a fair price would be in the $32-$35K range.

Ready to sell? :)

He is, or was. at his price though. 😄
I’ve never had any desire to sell. Dealer makes me an offer every time I have it in for service. Earlier this year, they offered me $39K. What’s crazy, I bought it from them new as a special order in May 2018 for $38,750 after all rebates. Crazy!

I have a chance at a 2018 PP2 with just under 40k on the clock. It’s a 301A with PP2 and Rocaro seats. My local dealership should be getting it from a sister dealership in the next few days. I assume the 301A package means it has the 4 inch screen and analog gauges - is that right?

Here’s the thing. I was able to get my hands on the service record and there’s been a transmission issue. The service record reads:

“C - Grinds when shifting into 4th gear. C- Test drove vehicle to duplicate grinds going into 4th. Put vehicle on lift. Checked fluid level - good condition. Removed the transmission and mounted to fixture for inspection. Found 3rd/4th syntonizer and 4th gear locking ring worn. C- Overhauled the transmission. Reinstalled in vehicle. Added Fluid. Retested. Good.”

What do you guys think? The car is currently sitting at the sister dealership “waiting on a part”. The same dealership repaired the transmission and they are a reputable, well know dealership a couple of cities over. Should I stay (run?) away or start pushing to see if I can grab it? If I shouldn’t be too concerned, what’s a reasonable price for a car with just under 40k and a rebuilt transmission? I think it may be priced well under market…

Brand new here, but owned an 03 Mach 1 back in the day. Starting to get the itch again!!
301A means SYNC 3 and lots of other goodies.
The transmission should be like new.
Why would you run away?
It is absolutely NOT going to be priced "well under market". You're living in a fantasy world. The transmission being replaced means nothing.
Kelly Blue Book for price.

Because it's a PP2, check out the wheels and tires. They came with 305s all the way around, and with Cup 2s, which would surely be long gone.

This^^. It should give you bargaining power if the tires are worn down to the wear indicators. You’re looking at $1600 + or - to replace all four, so I recommend having your documentation ready to show the dealer. Maybe even go to a Ford parts counter and get an estimate for four new tires to take with you and show the greedy salesman.

I think mine has the 301A package. I have real gauges. When you say "4 inch screen" are you talking about the little screen between the gauges?
The touchscreen on your right is at least an 8" screen.

Yes, I was referring to the radio.

Saw the car yesterday and it seemed fine mechanically, but the wheels had been swapped out and tacky red trim had been added to the interior. I had to walk away...
