My A10 takes a little time to engage when placed in "drive" even after it's warmed up. It's works great other than that. It only has 140 miles on it now, and it may get better with mileage though. But who knows if that's a fact. Today after it engaged I started off, and the thing slipped then it moved on. I was wondering if any others with the A10 has this quirk.

Mine seems to go right in gear, warm, or cold, I have not had any of the quirkiness, some have had when real new. I have just over 1k miles now, and have commuted and wrung its neck, (meaning tried to break it in all over the rev range) One other thing I noticed, it sure takes along time for the A10 to get to full operating temp! like 50 miles! in 65* F temps. mine is a non -PP GT with active shutters, these cars have the biggest tranny radiator I have ever seen, and are not affiliated with the coolant radiator at all, looks like a stand alone system

I have not noticed any slippage or delays. You may want to go to the dealer

Mine has a slight delay as well. No matter if warm or not. About a 1/2 to a full second or so delay. I cannot start the car, put it in gear and go. I have to wait then the gear engages.

when first started mine has a slight delay between reverse and drive and it's very consistent so i'd guess it's intentional

I noticed in CO (on cold mornings around 30-40 F) that my A10 will delay (rev to 2000+ rpm) before switching into 2nd gear at start if the transmission temp is not above 65 F. Above 65 F, I don't notice a delay.

Yep, that's what I'm talking about Kid.

That's part of mine also my friend, but it continues after warming up.

This is pretty much what I experience.

Are you trying to put in in gear after moving..? Such as reverse, then backing out, then D going forward?

Does it happen in reverse..?

I notice it when backing out of the driveway and putting it in D, seems to think about it for a second where as my 16's was instant.

Is there any chance that it's looking at the outside temp (not engine temp) and thinking that roads might be slick and thus starting in 2nd gear? (which would likely cause a delay from neutral)

My gut says this should only happen in wet/snow mode, but it might be programmed across all modes based on outside air temp.

Well, that is because the no neutral drops, or putting it into "D", when still rolling backwards, etc.

The follow up question is, how long was your car running before you put it into gear..? (ie: Start car, and 10s later trying to drive away on a cold start..?) Does it happen on remote starts?

It is a bit more of a delay, the full 1 second, going from R to P or to D. If I go straight to D after being parked with car running or cold start or warm start, I get 1/2 second delay. Does not matter on start up if I wait 30 seconds or 30 minutes going from P to D or R. I have a consistent delay.

I find the delay between Reverse and Drive rather relaxing. It takes about a heartbeat to start moving and, for some reason, it brings a smile to my face.
When it first happened I thought something had broken but it's just a repeatable characteristic of my A10.
If mine was just a heart beat I would be OK. Mine can take 3-4 seconds, and then kinda slides into gear. If it wasn't for mine slipping, and then catching that one time after starting off I wouldn't be so concerned.

Have any of you good folks had the dealer to check the tranny fluid level? I going to take mine in when I get back in town (approx. 2 weeks), and have them check. I think while I'm there I'm going to get my sale guy, and we're gonna check a couple of lot cars to see how they operate.
