I think I'm going to try and have the body shop at the dealership just buff out what scratches they can since I have a photoshoot lined up for Monday. Hoping most of them come right out.
That bird was a real peckerhead. Sorry couldn't resist.

Go over it very closely to see if it got past the clear coat. Some of those scratches look deep to me but maybe I'm just seeing things. Good luck and sorry for the bad luck. Go find it, snap its neck and eat it for dinner. That will show it who's boss. :D

I just woke up on this beautiful Friday morning......

TO A SAND HILL CRANE LITERALLY PECKING ITS LIFE AWAY AT MY CAR.

I wish I could say its dead, but the felony killing of endangered animals crossed my mind before I pulled the trigger.

Yes....I was on my knees in my lawn asking God why after.

You can see the "claw" marks as well.

Hoping the insurance company has a sense of humor this weekend.
Wow, you have a lot more self control than I do. That bird would have met my M&P .45

Endangered or not that bird came at me and attacked me when I went outside and I had to kill it.

My buddy has red birds that do that to his mirrors. We have to put sacks on the mirrors or the bird will go nuts on 'em.

I have read that they don't like their reflections. It be the enemy. :(

I had that problem with my car getting it insured, nothing found on VIN from esurance and dealer wouldn't give me the keys until I could prove I had insurance.

But I feel for you, I live in Spring Hill which is Sand Hill Crane haven. Too many times to I have to come to a squealing stop because they feel it's their right of passage to casually cross highways US 19.

Tho I have laughed a couple times at the small white cranes, I've seen a few times where one is ontop of someone's car that left the sun roof open and they're shitting into the open top.

They're cardinals and I've seen plenty of cars in Florida that routinely place covers over their mirrors to avoid the damage.

Update: insurance finally came through to get it all fixed. Check is in the mail.

I caught the damn thing at it again the other morning, I forgot to put the cover on when I got home late one night. Thankfully it only got a couple pecks on the rear quarter and I rubbed them off with soap and water. How unlucky am I?

I think the better question is "How lucky is that damn bird?" :paddle:
