I just woke up on this beautiful Friday morning......

TO A SAND HILL CRANE LITERALLY PECKING ITS LIFE AWAY AT MY CAR.

I wish I could say its dead, but the felony killing of endangered animals crossed my mind before I pulled the trigger.

Yes....I was on my knees in my lawn asking God why after.

You can see the "claw" marks as well.

Hoping the insurance company has a sense of humor this weekend.

WTH? why??? That's terrible, I'm sorry to see this. I just can't imagine why the bird would be pecking at a vehicle??

A freind of mine told me a similar story a few weeks ago. He said it was pecking away like crazy destroying the paint. SUCKS!

Reflection of itself maybe? He got a solid 20 minute round in on it before I heard the thing bouncing its head off my hood.

I had one of those mother f'ers do that to my pool screen a few weeks ago. Two days later I saw my neighbor out there feeding the stupid things. Ugh!!! No wonder.

Damn. I've seen them go after a reflection in a sliding door, but never a car!

That will certainly be an interesting claim. I have a few friends that work at the Progressive claims center in Brandon and will have to ask how common this is.

Yeah I'd like to know if its something that has happened before. Going to get an estimate for the paint work/new headlight later.

Assuming they replace the headlight, I may be interested in the damaged one if you are just going to get rid of it.

Two people I just asked had never seen a Bird Attack claim, but said it shouldn't be an issue at all.

Jeez, that sucks! Are these cranes attracted to mostly black/dark colored vehicles or anything that shows their reflection?
