hey guys im going to add an ESS blower to my 20 gt in march. planning out the build list on what to do next. performance shop that im going to with there kit (ess g3, opg, headers, bigger fuel pump, ect.) stated it will net me around the 720whp area. this car will be the typical street car going through twisties and do roll races (40 and 60 rolls) with ocassionally going to the drag strip. i have most of the steeda parts for the twisties (ill add the list at the end) but i have no parts to help for the extra power such as half shafts or driveshaft. do i need to upgrade those? if i do then what brands are the best quality and balanced as i HATE having the howling sound of the diff lol or do i need to even get upgrades since im mostly doing roll racing anyway? all advice is appreciated. also any other parts to add to this list please let me know was think about adding a roll correction kit and end links as well

installed parts:

ford performance magneride lowering springs

ford performance front and rear sway bars

ford performance magneride tune

bmr 4 point front chassis brace

steeda sub frame connectors

steeda irs alignment kit

steeda toe links

steeda diff bushing kit

steeda vertical links

steeda irs bushing insert kit

poly lca bushings

ford performance knuckle to toe link bearing

steeda camber bolts

I would atleast do gt350 shafts they should hold fine for that hp and use. driveline is not really needed it won’t hurt but vibrations will increase

Im on a 120mm pully on pump gas on a similar setup, i have nothing but springs on. It depends on how careful you will be and if you plan on any dig races, i only do pulls and im on stock clutch, stock everything else and its in general fine. Stop the hop would definitly help, other stuff like axles or driveshafts depend on the driving and how big your pockets are

Be mindful of running cats with boost. If you plan to go to the drag strip occasionally, I recommend getting good half shafts like GForce or Ford Performance, as trying to get the best sixty-foot that you can and might lead to breaking the factory or even GT350 shafts.

thank you for all of the replies guys! i feel like i drive the car harder than most people but then again i try to make sure i dont hit any crowds in the process lol with that being set i will be getting more of a stickier tire than the 305 ps4s tires that i have now. ive heard that gt350 shafts snap pretty bad too with boosted applications so i never thought those would be an option but if you think those would be fine that would save a considerable amount if money. is the driveshaft even worth getting? i wouldnt care if the stock one broke but i dont want to be pole vaulted either 😂

A one piece driveshaft with a safety loop would certainly be a good idea. I ran mine without one for a bit, but always knew I would be upgrading it as soon as I could. I have the Steeda ds and safety loop in mine. I did encounter a few minor issues during the install, but I was able to work around them. You can read about that and see pics here if you like.

A Mcleod RXT Clutch and MGW Short Shifter race spec standard would tie everything in like 👌👌👌 Aside from Boost its like having a new car 👍👍

Now this is a car I'd like to drive. To see what difference all those suspension changes have made.

Did you do the FP Magneride handling pack?

Look at the Vengeance Stage 2 clutch. It's a little more forgiving than the RXT from McLeod and it has sinks/fins on the flywheel to dissipate heat, which kills clutches. You should call Terry and his guys at @beefcake and run things by them. They are very knowledgeable and will work a package deal with you.

yes i did! this car feels extremely solid in the rear end. still understeers a little bit but thats probably due to the slightly skinnier tires in front

i would agree worh you if it was just a bap but we are replacing the fuel pump and going a little bigger on the injectors than what normally comes with the kit. also too lets not forget ambient temp plays a factor in the dyno numbers as well lol
