The headlights are hideous. PLEASE FORD do something better, like the S550.i think it looks better than the darkhorse.
Yeah... Ooh yuck! Being the dominant expression vs the PorschePlus, you pull up to a show and park this next to a GT3RS 100% this car will get more attention.
Except you'll have to bribe the committeeWhen I hit the lottery, I will buy 4.
This was always coming with the GT3 program I was just curious what they would do. I expected a 125K MSRP GT3 Mustang that would be comparable to the MSRP of the Z06 Vette.
There really is no reason they couldn’t build a GT3 road car and sell for 125K - none. You basically take the GT350R vision but make some engine upgrades (internals), improve cooling, add better aero, better suspension, lose some more weight and add a dual clutch sequential gearbox. 125K to 135K car. Just my meaningless opinion.
But I’m sure this was thoroughly researched, they knew how many they had to make and as others have said they are probably all sold.
From what one of Ford Racing’s engineers told me - as far as road course goes - people are going to be shocked at what the S650 chassis is going to do. So we shall see.
Lastly - if I have zero F’s money I buy one just to not be that guy with a GT3RS. If these are rare enough they could be more like the LFA in terms of value and performance. Plus, you pull up to a show and park this next to a GT3RS 100% this car will get more attention.
In addition to that - which is an absolute truth - they're going to sell every single one of them.Price point makes sense when you look at the pricing of other road cars lapping the Nurburgring under the 7 minute mark. They're all squarely in the 300K+ range.
true. i think the facelift S550's are going to be among the most coveted mustangs ever. they're pretty much perfect aside from a few wrinkles all having to do with the IRS not being perfected. The headlights are hideous. PLEASE FORD do something better, like the S550.
I don't see any hardcore Porsche GT3RS owners crossing over to the GTD. It will be interesting to see how truely competitive they are in the long run. Maybe they'll turn some heads and not just in disgust that its a Ford.It looks really good. They fixed all of the shortcomings of the S650, from looks to performance. That said, it's a bummer that it's a Mustang for the elites. And it's not even a money thing, but all about connections.
It's damn good package. The ultimate Mustang.
Totally agreed and after owning a '65 2+2 K-Code model and a new Mustang from every generation since then, I never thought that Mustang would be taken to a supercar level but here we are so how good is that!Absolutely Awesome!
Good questions. I would think if someone is specifically a Mustang enthusiast, has the cash and a few connections, that person would have just as good a chance as any to get one.Totally agreed and after owning a '65 2+2 K-Code model and a new Mustang from every generation since then, I never thought that Mustang would be taken to a supercar level but here we are so how good is that!
It will be interesting to see if the new Mustang GTD allocation team in Dearborn will cater more towards the 1st and 2nd generation Ford GT owners and give them preference for an upcoming 2025 GTD allocation or will they treat long time and loyal Mustang enthusiasts with an equal allocation opportunity?
Lastly, since there was a 2-year run for the 1st generation Ford GT, will there be a 2-year run for the Mustang GTD model?
