And this comes from a KID that built a motor and blew up . Sitting on the side lines now
Lmao I’m not a kid.

And what’s your point? As far as I can tell my motor blowing was due to a manufacturing defect in my head studs letting my car burn a ton of oil.

Are you mad that I tried to build my motor myself and work on my car myself? Does that piss you off lmao

@tdstuart, be proud of what you accomplished. Even though you suffered a setback, I have no doubt that you’ll be able to carefully analyze the cause of the failure and lessons learned along the way, to rebuild again with success.

It just sucks going through the process, but that can always be used to improve one’s self or way of doing things.

That can get expensive. We all learn

Ok harsh words , your a KID . Come on you want brag how you have done this and that . But your biggest failure is the engine . You would like to blame someone , the head studs the tune wait the intake . But in all reality is , your a KID . You don't want to listen to any advise or if you do you take it as a negative. Listen you need to step back and stop giving advise until you figure you own shit out .

And yet again , ask twice and listen once . I get learning the hard way. But when you get told over and over again . It ain't right .......wouldn't that be the definition of insanity?

Someone read my Wengerd post and get their panties in a bunch?

My first engine blew because I ran a tune I new was bad. That’s my fault, never blamed it on anyone but me.

My second engine I don’t have a solid answer on why it burnt so much oil. I could have caught it and prevented damage but the engine would still have needed to come apart. So far the rings look fine. Only thing I can tell is that multiple head studs were loose. I am 99% sure that I followed the steps and torqued them correctly. Apex is currently evaluating them to see if there is a defect.

I don’t flaunt what I’ve done. If you look back on my posts you can see when I didn’t know what I was talking about, when I didn’t know anything about my engine. The point of the forum is to learn and share.

I don’t see the point of calling me a kid and devaluing my opinion. The truth is I’ve probably done more to my car than 99% of people on the forum. Can 99% of the people on the forum not share their knowledge? How much have you done to your car?

Oh , kid call me out . I have read a lot of your threads , keeping quite , since you know it all . But what you have not realized. You do not want to listen to any given advise . I don't have a problem helping people out , but when someone cares to say I, or some of older gents , we don't know what we are talking about , your highly wrong . If you really must know my back ground working on this shit , just ask . Please KID call me out .

Thank you. I do it partially because I am broke and partially because I want to learn, even if it means I don’t do the best job and sometimes fail.

I listen to feedback all the time.

Should I start calling you GRANDPA? GRANDPA, you haven’t given any advice, you have just gotten mad at me for giving advice. And your only reasons are because I work on my car? Please GRANDPA enlighten me with your wisdom and guidance

The late Evel Knievel once said this:

”A man can fall many times in life, but he’s never a failure until he refuses to get back up.”

Stay with it and carefully analyze where you’ve been, as well as the advice or experience that others here and elsewhere have offered up and you will get it right.

Well kid , to start off , yes I am old enough to be at least your dad . Second I have gave you advice , in the many other threads you have posted. And third my shit works ......when a studded motor loses tension on a stud , shit was not assembled correctly. When i read a thread stating " I pulled and installed my own engine , have done breaks and / or built my engine " And your shit don't work . You need , only if you want , to step back and listen to the old fucks that have been doing this a while .

Because you ran a tune you knew was bad? No because you had a a airleak and had air that was not being metered by the maf you didn't know how to fix.

Some people simply should not be working on their own cars. Same reason your new engine runs so slow and has issues

Lmao you couldn’t even find the problem.

Your tune had shifting issues that you couldn’t fix and another tuner could. What’s to say your tune had another issue that you couldn’t identify but another tuner could?

I pressure tested the intake. The intake is fine, even if a small amount of air was leaking around the breather hose connector it wouldn’t cause the fuel trims that the car had.

I reached out to you trying to help you with your transmission tuning issue. I have been trying to be fair to you when discussing you on the forum. No reason to personally attack me.

I’ve done many things successfully on my car… The reason the car is running slow could be because of a defect in my head studs leading to low compression. I tore down my motor and found no signs of me doing anything wrong, rings were fine. I also have 3.15 gears, stock converter, and full weight.

I think you might be missing something .........you can not fix a transmission shift issue until the car is running, or tuned, right . Looking at your logs , you have posted them , you had a major vacuum leak . You where chasing pre throttle body , but I would put my money on , it was post throttle body . Next time try a smoke test vrs a pressure test . Or pull up your data log and watch short trim at idle and then again at 2500 rpm . If trim goes to normal at 2500 a vacuum leak is present . You have been focusing in your cold air kit but you should have moved further down the line to get your a/f right . Then you should have looked at your shift issue . But what do I know , mine is amanual .
