I was out in Pittsburg over the weekend.
likewise. Even stopped at the same gas station (well, Apple Bees) that I met up with @Mikepol2 - thought about giving you a ring. Was on my way to Elkhart IN and then to Sioux Falls SD. Currently spending a few days in Rapid City/Ellsworth AFB.

Seen one M1 in the wild, maybe 2 around NoVA. They don't even show up to the US50/606 C&C so maybe all the units Ourisman sold went to out of state?

For me, I don't care all that much because I bought a mustang to modify it. When I see a Mach 1, GT350, or GT500 I see a collector car. It's nice, but in my own eyes I wouldn't modify it so I don't really look for what has been done to it.

The GT trim is when I would be asking the owner a bunch of questions. When I custom ordered my 2021, I made sure to option it with what I needed to start modding without a headache. 3.55 gearing, 401a interior, and the twister orange paint code with blackout package.

Now my car is truly my own after my own mods and it doesn't feel like I've tainted the car. The regular s550 is an open canvas whereas the Mach 1 is someone else's painting.
I was thinking about this yesterday. If you have the knowledge, tools and facilities, you can take a plain GT and mod it to do almost anything you want for street, strip, or track. Otherwise you're probably better off with one of the higher end Mustangs.

You can, and it will be cheaper than buying a real M1, or 500. but I can't get past the ugly front end of the 18+ GT, I would have to put a M1 bumper cover on. By the time you mod it to your liking and change out the bumper cover for the M1, you've spent the same money, so why not just get the real thing.

Yes my 2002 Mustang GT I modded the crap out of it, lol. My 2023 Mach 1 I have only changed the air filter, cabin air filter, black lug nuts, Ford Performance center caps, and Ford Performance (GT 350R) Strut Tower Brace. This is probably all I will do to it for mods.
Why change out the cabin air on a 23 Mach? I get the engine filter for performance.

I have it so hopefully I get cleaner air inside the car.

Couple things:
  1. I bought a mustang because I wanted to learn about mechanical and auto detailing
  2. I love the 18+ front end. The 15-17 is terrible in comparison. That's my own opinion. The Mach 1 is good too.
  3. Money isn't a factor. I've already surpassed the Mach 1 price, but have had a ton more fun

If I had the $$ to waste, I'd put on GT350 front fenders a GT500 nose, and a new hood with a shaker system on my car.

Of course I'd keep all the Bullitt specific parts and would be a plug and play affair. All priced out with paint matching, I'd be looking at 8-10K..... I think that would make a perfect looking S550

That'd be pretty cool. The car is as fast as I want it to be now, so maybe I'll throw some cash at some more exterior things. I think I'd rather get a stop the hop kit to work on my own development/education first.

I get to foot a $2k bill for my 2003 Silverado tomorrow first. Getting that thing back up to snuff for another 20 years.

Who cares? :cwl:
Some act like you have a completely different car if you didn’t order the bolt ons in the HP option. It goes on and on. I just mock the silliness because it’s funny.
I’ll say this. They definitely have less of a sense of humor in the GT500 sub forum.
MOST thought you M1 guys had no sense of humor, since your own post title, outlines how you felt... 🤣
& while your compadres take cheap shots, yet cannot take it when jokingly?
When dished bk...

I cannot read your responses, as they were apparently removed. They must have been very entertaining 😄

Yeah weird, wonder if the moderators have removed some of the posts in this thread, like yours that said the Mock 1 was a girls car. It’s not even in my post where I quoted it anymore.

Well the mustang was to be made for sectretary's so looks like anyone who drives a mustang or a variant has a girl car.

I like it when people’s stupid posts stay on display. It gives us a point of reference when looking to find credible information from reliable sources separated from the cranial rectal inverted examples of the human species as they defy the natural selection process.
