here's .02 cent worth. If I go to a car show I park mine and just go to look. If I go to Mustang event, Car'n'Coffee or Mustang meet, I put it in line with others and stand around gassing about this and that of what we've done to our Mustangs and there's usually Mach 1 folks there. In a Mustang event I found everyone gets welcomed and attention. Car shows are much more competitive for the oldie, restoration or heavy mod crowd, again just me.

Being concerned about what others think about your car means you are insecure. Judging people based on what they drive makes one an insecure asshole.
Are you preaching about insecurity with your username? :giggle:
Let's not pretend anything, everyone cares what others think about their performance vehicle.
That's one of the reasons mustangs sell like hot cakes.

The GT500 guys are still angry about paying all that ADM and the fact that they don’t have the last GT500 made with the recent news of the S650 GT500. They are also starting to miss that 3rd pedal. The 350 guys are all pissed about saving for a new engine. Just enjoy it man and don’t worry about others.
As a former GT350 & current GT500 owner, I have no anger whatsoever. I’ll admit…it took a lot upfront to ditch the 3rd pedal, but I haven’t looked back since. And I’ve had a 3rd pedal in all my Mustangs since I was 18 in my ‘03 Mach 1. I’m 31 now, so it was obviously a huge adjustment.

The DCT in the GT500 is a work of art and damn near perfection when it comes to transmissions.

I find that I meet a lot of mustang guys who don't even know what it is.

I've had a few times been asked

Where did you get your rims? (Handling pack oem rims)

All have been asked by people in mustangs 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ so not sure what I think people think of us

Snobs….

But for real I go to shows all the time with an almost fully built 900+ whp GT that has a big ole supercharger sitting up front and my wife gets more people who talk to her about her 2023 Toyota Camry TRD when she is parked right next to me. Such is life so stop worrying about what other people think you snob 🤣 and just enjoy your car! 😎

It always surprises me how little some people know about cars. But then again, sometimes I get surprised by someone telling me a Mustang fact I had no idea about. I have a coworker that doesn't even own a car who has surprised me with how much he knows more than once.

That reminds me, the show I was at a couple days ago was held by a local technical trade school for auto repair students. Two of the students did come over and were looking at my engine, and one of them said, I think these are supercharged… guess they did not get to the supercharger class yet! 😂

But no worries, I enjoy the crap out of this car.

I have a neighbor with a beauty Rouch (not stock from what I hear), he gave a big thumbs up and a "cool a Mach 1" the other day.
I look at all cars and believe I got a great car for street use.
Hey I ve walked pasts many a GT500 and only took a quick glance. doesn t mean anything, I like them too but these are all production cars for the most part. It nice to see what others have done to their rides.
Like someone said, it s about enjoying the ride, the people and leave your ego s at home cause nobody cares what you got.

You might be correct about most people will not modify their Mach 1's, but I had my modified before I even took delivery of the vehicle. It is a track car after all, and suspension upgrades are something I believe that people who track their car will look into. Though I didn't only do suspension upgrades. I built the car like I wanted to, and I don't regret any of it.

And you did a great job picking the extras over and above the Steeda numbered cars. Car looks excellent and I’m sure drives amazingly well. My car basically has all the same suspension parts as yours, just waiting to be installed. I can’t wait.

But having owned a 350R and 500 the Mach does lack some of that special sauce because it sits in between the two most recent top dogs. The Mach needed its own persona, without any of the parts shared from other platforms. In 03/04 the shaker hood and unique bumper gave it a new look. But this one is harder for people to know what it is, or what it’s built for.

Nobody likes Mach 1s, you say? Fine. Good. It just makes mine, which I love SO much, even more of a treat for me to drive.

Contrary to your title thread though, my car got plenty of attention at the huge monthly Cars & Coffee event here this past weekend. Immediately after arriving, a 50 or 60-something year old guy to the side pointed and said to his friend "Ooh, look, there's a Mustang Mach 1." Then, over the course of the next three hours, I witnessed various people of all ages checking out the car, including its exterior, interior and under the hood. To be fair, it didn't get as much attention as the two S550 GT500s that were parked just a couple cars away from me, but I'm OK with that. I saved about $42,000 getting a Mach 1 instead of one of those, and they still have the same sub-par interior that I do. Plus, I get a 3rd pedal and they don't. 😁 Yeah, they can go 0-60 a whole lot faster than me, but the highest speed limit around my town is 55, unless I go on an interstate highway. The Mach is plenty fast for me, and has more than enough "cool factor" to it.
