I guess then I used "again" as a point of emphasis or figure of speech, but the point wasn't to arrive at the proper usage of the word, but at the fact that there's a light on the dash showing headlight function unlinked to DRLs, so we got that clear now.



Would love to have a more-modern looking one than the bulky one in the Bullitt, but from my understanding the Bullitt one has a different harness due to not having lane keep module up there too, is that right?

I think the slim mirror was recently added for the higher trim levels, but now that the Ford Pilot 360 thing is standard, it might just be the only mirror now, even on base cars.

From my understanding the interior of the Bullitt is equivalent of the highest interior trim of the GTs, but they stripped us of the lane keep / ACC, and I vaguely recall someone else on this form months ago saying the Bullitt harness is quite different. Also I've never heard of Google to check myself.

So I discovered this at work before I was running out to grab a bite to eat. My tires are all normally at 34 pounds cold but this one was at 31 so I filled it back up to 34 and noticed the metal. It held pressure all the way home from work which is 30 miles and even went up to 36 when warm. What are your thoughts on it holding when I pull this thing out Friday. I’m not driving it tomorrow as I carpool.

I had the same problem on a fairly new tire with a screw in the same location near the sidewall. No tire shop would repair it. Two choices...repair it yourself or replace so I ended up plugging it and that was over a year ago. No problems so far.

I dunno, my friend's 2021 401A has that mirror. Not sure when it started showing up, but it may be part of the driver assistance package? Would make sense given what you're saying.

Got that done I think literally the same day (or for sure the same week) the recall came out. It changed nothing on the car, but I also didn't have issues.

Now truly, without sarcasm or trying to be a smartass - why is that stupid? To get a light on the dash notifying you that your headlights + taillights (or at least parking lights in some cars) are on?
There are A LOT of drivers out there that could use this in their cars (provided they actually know what it means, which is a stretch for those driving in dark on just their front "signature lights").

Because it's another light on the fucking dash-board that doesn't need to be there, especially when driving at night. We shouldn't need a light on the dashboard to tell us the car's lights are on. Alright I'm done with poking at you, maybe.

But in all honesty - vast majority of cars now have backlit clusters regardless of mode of headlights.
And back to your previous point - you yourself state you drove in fog without lights on. So actually, I think you do need this light in your dash to know your lights are on or off.

Lots of new vehicles have a full LCD screen, which really doesn't change that much in brightness from lights on vs lights off.

I can personally attest that there's so many stupids out on the road when it comes to lighting. Anything that could give a chance to potentially reduce vehicle (like dark prior gen Nissan Rogue with its "signature lights" on (double as DRLs) and NO TAILLIGHTS when it's dark cause the driver thinks "backlight cluster means lights are on" is a good tech for me.
Whether another light is needed or not, I don't know. So many cars have automatic headlights, yet people still can't manage.

This is unfortunately in today's age "old thinking" and clusters don't work that way anymore. Like it or not.

Honestly, if you truly despise the light in your dash that much, put electrical tape over it? That was my solution to my old Cobalt in grad school when I couldn't afford fixing the TPMS.

Auto headlights were turned off. Like you I don't think about that until the road isn't lit up like a Christmas tree. It was NOT apparent to this driver lights were off until someone coming the other way started flashing their lights. No lights didn't affect my vision one bit, but it undoubtedly made me at least a little less visible to other driver's retinal rods [/alliteration].

Automatic headlights aren't the issue.

The fact that the dash lights don't simultaneously switch to night-mode when the headlights are turned on is the issue.

If they did, then it wouldn't be necessary to have that stupid light on the dash to tell us the headlights are on. The dashboard being lit-up like a Christmas tree would tell you your headlights are on.

So when I was driving through that fog, because I was missing that stupid little light icon on the tach, I couldn't tell if my lights were on or off.

Yep, that's happened to me as well. In fact, it just happened the other night when I was leaving a restaurant across the street from Disneyland. No way I could have known my lights were off given the ambient lighting in the area. It wasn't until I was a few blocks away that I noticed something wasn't right.

In all fairness, I also didn't notice that the headlight indicator on the dash wasn't on. It's not like my eye looks for that indicator at night to confirm that the lights are on. Rather, I think the indicator is valuable for during the day when the lights are on and you don't want them to be.
