If it takes up to 2 1/2 months from build date to Granger prepping the car, then I’m going to have to consider freezing temperatures, tyres and mountain pass road conditions for my scenic drive from Iowa to Georgia.
Does anyone know the operating temperature range for the non-HP tyres?

I wouldn't use the PS4 under 40degrees. It looks like cars are moving faster from factory to show room. It was the middle of winter for my build date and it did go from Detroit to California

In CA you need to get a Smog Check and Pull into the DMV Verification Line before parking, on your way to your appointment. At our office it's next to the Driver Test Line.

I am hoping that since I am getting a temporary registration from Iowa, that they go ahead and charge me their 9% sales tax, so Newsome doesn't get all 11% they normally would.
Just one more clarification since I have done it. You get the temporary Iowa title and registration. It is the title that you surrender to get the permanent CA title. As for CA taxes, there is a calculator at the DMV site that tells you the approximate amount based on your zip code. But as @traxiii said, get your smog test before going to the DMV. Also, let your insurance company know the moment you electronically signed the paperwork with Granger (the car is yours at that moment)

Did the DMV office you went to have a Verification Line outside, or did someone go out and look from inside the office?

There is a verification line, alongside the license test drive line

Mine too. When registering a car bought outside CA you need to go through there on your way to your appointment.

Per FP chat I'm in the trim line!
I got the same information on mine from FP. They must be close to each other in the assembly line

Should be built soon! My Ecoboost Convertible was officially BUILT on 8/1 and is awaiting shipment to Colorado. Maybe they’ll make the trip together. Mine is due to dealer in Colorado Springs 18-24th. I’m so ready!

other than 700A we have similar builds. No rhyme or reason to the order these are built. Ordered 2 months before you and still have zero info on mine being built or not.
Congrats BTW - please post some photos when you get it

Why does a new car even need a Smog test? You’d think the manufacturers / dealers would have that worked out with all DMV - no?

I feel lucky that my car has been built and "should" be dropped off to Granger in the next couple days. I'm not sure what I'd be doing if that weren't the case. I knew it was going to take a while to get mine built because I ordered 2 "Late Availability" items (Eruption Green and Handling Pack) but had no idea I wouldn't be getting it until August.

Financially it is working out nice, as I have been able to purchase most of the Mod. parts I'm planning on adding, and they're sitting in my den, ready to be installed. I am soooo ready!
What mods are you planning?

Let's see, I'm taking the FP Oil Separator to install before we leave Iowa, and we are stopping to have my PS4S tires installed at Discount Tire.

I have the following piled up in my den: Steeda Jacking rails, FP x-pipe, OE clear tail-lights, White Madness shifter and Green ball knob, FP Air Filter. As soon as I know the car is at the dealer, I'm ordering a Cervini's GT500 hood and maybe later, aluminum rear louvers.

I already have a second set of HP wheels that are going for powder coating in bronze, along with the shock tower brace. That's probably it. The plan was to get it where I want it ASAP, then just drive.

Curious, how much do they charge for this new car smog test? Do they waive the fee for new cars?

Good old days when a car may have fed spec smog specs while CA is stricter. I believe still going on but I can’t think of a manufacturer that makes differently for CA (and states that follow CA regs) vs fed regs. Maybe I am wrong. Anyone knows of a new car that has different smog specs (Ca vs Fed) currently?
