New wheels, summer tires and suspension upgrade. Now i need to change the password on the checking acct so the missus cant see the spend...
FP track handling pack, FP PP control arms, apex 18x10s conti 275/40. I need to put this crap in my sig and maybe do a build thread, but that will just remind me of the insanity of what I spent and plan to spend.

I finally finished the installation of the Hurst Indy Short Throw Shifter in my 2020 GT Premium. It was quite a job for a 70 year old guy under a car up on blocks. I had to drop the exhaust system, drive shaft and lower the tranny to get to it. I didn’t use a single swear word, though I know them all. I did use a lot of Tylenol in the three days it took me. The knob sits about an inch lower than the stock knob, and the throw is noticeably shorter. The harder urethane bushing makes the mounting

feel more rigid. I’ll let the locktite cure overnight and take it for a spin tomorrow.

Every time I raise mine up and crawl under it I have to take a few of those. Funny, now that every mech. part on a car seams easy for me to work on my body screams "What the hell are you doing"

because cars are designed to be assembled. Nobody spends any time thinking about optimizing or at least not making it a major effort to replace parts. If Ford engineers had their way, you'd have to take the entire car apart to the frame to change a fuse. It is a direct consequence of AutoCAD monkeys identifying as engineers. None of them have ever been forced at gun point to work on their optimized to the 9th degree creations. It manifests itself all over the place. I'm just waiting for all the bolts to be one-way and it's impossible to take anything apart without a grinder.

Getting oil and filter changed (at 3.7k miles). Asked clerk about the oil filter shortage, he said "not for Mustangs". Maybe thats true for this location, Fort Lauderdale.

This one is a beauty, my color. Unfortunately its an automatic or I would have considered a trade. 🙄

Tuning shop near me is fitting the full IRS kit on Saturday. I'll tackle the vertical links myself.

But I wanted to check with you knowledgable folk on here... the bloke on the phone (sounded non-technical) said it would take 3-4 hours to fit the subframe stuff(!) I told him I had the base version fitted to my previous GT and it was done within an hour (I even waited whilst it was done). I can't see how two extra braces would take another 3 hours? I'm going to speak with them when I arrive cause that sounds like rubbish to me. Would I be right in saying? Thanks.

the lockouts can be a pain but the braces only take as long as it takes to 'zip' 6 bolts. It's a piece of cake.

Thanks! That's what I kinda thought, there is no drilling, the braces go into pre-existing holes (if I understand correctly) so surely 15-30 minutes tops. OK cool - I'll make sure to speak to one of the actual technicians doing the job when I get there.

It’s the bag of aluminium bits and plastic bits that will be the time consumers, especially if the subframe is a bit off from the factory.

CJ Pony has YouTube vids of those items being fitted - would be good to watch before speaking to your garage so you don’t get blagged :like:

If all you are installing is what is in the pic, should be an hour tops for both sides, beer break included. As stated above, watch the CJ vids, you might just want to tackle it yourself.

The alignment kit is very straight forward, as are the braces. The bushing supports are a f*in pain in the tits. Mine prolly took me 3hrs in my garage with zero experience with an IRS support kit install from before lifting to after putting back on the ground.

Cheers all. I'll check out the CJ vids. I don't have a garage so it would be done outside on axle stands if I had to do them myself. Could be fun I guess. :cwl: I'd need to buy two more axle stands as I only have 2 currently.
