I’m not saying it’s right that you should settle for this kind of work, but if it were me I’d just pop off the end link to free the brake hose and re-install it. It will take 5 minutes, won’t require an alignment, and means you won’t have to bring it back to them.

But hey, that’s me.
It looks like there’s not enough play in the line to rotate the vertical link. I’m betting the guy didn’t catch it or didn’t know when he slid the spring/strut combo back up.

In 30 years of working on all kinds of makes & models, nobody in their right mind will wrap a brake line around a suspension component like that.
Oh c’mon now, spoil the fun; what’s a little brake line chafing and eventual instant rupture at speed? It will definitely be a pucker moment …

Surely I’m being totally sarcastic with that statement…

I too can’t even fathom why anyone would have thought that is correct, let alone a REAL safety issue… and proceed to give the car back to any customer. Go back to that shop and raise heck with the Owner or Service Manager… that’s a liability right there and they need to seriously discuss it with the Tech who performed the work.

Oh trust me, I’m gonna go nuclear on the owner.

Yeah more confirmation from a GT owner - this one hasn’t been moved from when Ford assembled it :

Looks like we get a longer flexible pipe with a bracket where as the 500 gets a rigid part to the pipe that should hold it in approximately the same place, with an upwards loop rather than your kink around the drop link …

It's a bracket to support the rubber part of the brake line.

Based on a GT, 'I think' (so don't take it as gospel) that only the MR cars got that bracket i.e. the standard non MR GT's didn't get it.

Here are the standard PP brake lines from FP :

And here are some aftermarket (J&M) GT / MR specific lines with the equivalent bracket :

I know the 500 is MR but unless its an optical illusion, I think proportionally the amount of steel and rubber is different on the 500 line i.e. its steel where my bracket is and that probably alleviates the need for the GT MR bracket.

I'm also assuming the 500 callipers protrude further into the wheel well, further reducing the need to support the line in that area.

So all summed up, I wouldn't worry that yours doesn't have that bracket :like:

Seeing as how they'd have to remove the caliper to remove the strut, did they replace the caliper hold-down bolts? They're a 1 time use only.

If it wasn’t such a serious issue it would be ROFL.
That’s kids talk for real funny, I am told.

At least that’s what mine tell me.

Remove and discard the 2 front stabilizer bar link nuts and remove the front stabilizer bar link.

The dummy put the end link on the wrong side of the brake line when he reinstalled the strut. The 2 open oval holes on the bracket are where the magnaride wires go held in by christmas trees. He probably broke them when pulling it apart.

Not really, as long that you clean them and reapply blue loctite, you can reuse them many, many times
