I had my springs swapped out yesterday and today I saw this while inspecting the work on my right front strut. The brake line rubs against the vertical link to the sway bar when the wheel is turned. Was this reinstalled improperly? I’d appreciate it if anyone could check theirs and ease my mind or tell me they screwed up the install. The left side is not wrapped around the vertical link. Thanks!

I'll look at mine tomorrow, but I can say it isn't right. Take it back and tell them to fix it. Oh, and you want a realignment.

That was my thoughts. And alignment is next. Looks like I’ll be headed back to the shop that did the install.

In 30 years of working on all kinds of makes & models, nobody in their right mind will wrap a brake line around a suspension component like that.

They are going to have to rip it all apart to make it right, unless they want to remove the brake line from the caliper. If I owned the shop, I would probably take it apart and free the line and just do a quick front end alignment.

I would watch them like a hawk after that install. No bs, that’s beyond lazy and half arse.

I saw this too and saw a red flag there as well as it looks like the strut bracket is just hanging there and I think something is suppose to be attached to it.

I’m not saying it’s right that you should settle for this kind of work, but if it were me I’d just pop off the end link to free the brake hose and re-install it. It will take 5 minutes, won’t require an alignment, and means you won’t have to bring it back to them.

But hey, that’s me.

Anytime you mess with the suspension I would always realign.

Not necessary when only taking the end link off. But everyone can do what tickles their fancy.

I hear ya, but if the car was going to the track, I would realign. Its amazing, and I only know this because I do my own alignments, how dependent everything is on each component. Once you screw with one part, it may effect the overall adjustments.

Try aligning your car down to a gnats ass. Then mess with a component, like I have after the fact, only to have to adjust it all again.

I’m betting they are not proprietary to GT500s so they have extra holes for other cars. But that’s a guess.
