why would you think that 0w40+5w50 = 0w40, 5w50 or 5w40 and not 2.5w45?It doesn’t. There’s no such thing as a 2.5 or 45 weight. It’s probably 0w40, possibly 5w50, with an off chance it might be 5w40.

Mixing two different oil is a good idea ?5w50 amsoil in the summer, half 0w40 and 5w50 in the winter. I also always include ceratec every oil change, atleast 1 bottle with great results.
Free shipping from their website.I went to the one by me, they don’t carry 5w-50. Thanks.
works for me with great results.Mixing two different oil is a good idea ?
Math for the #winwhy would you think that 0w40+5w50 = 0w40, 5w50 or 5w40 and not 2.5w45?
There are specific breakpoints that determine grade. For instance, 16.2999 cst is 40 weight and 16.3 cst is 50 weight. So if you mix something that’s 15 cst (40 weight) with something that’s 20 cst (50 weight), then the result will be somewhere between 15 and 20 cst but it will be either more than or less than 16.3 cst. If it’s under 16.3 then it’s still a 40.why would you think that 0w40+5w50 = 0w40, 5w50 or 5w40 and not 2.5w45?
Yeah that’s where I got mine from too. It’s just crazy that it’s so hard to find.I run Ford Motorcraft 5w-50 with my Whipple 2018. I order it from rock auto. If you spend that much on a Supercharger what's a $100 every 3-5k miles in the grand scheme of things..
No…..not another oil thread……please……
The Engineers and Support Team at Whipple provided you a recommendation; I'd be most comfortable using it than trying to determine something else myself.I run Ford Motorcraft 5w-50 with my Whipple 2018.
