Sorry for posting in general, i dont know what chat would have been best to ask this. I am very indecisive on what forced induction to go with on my 20 10r80 car. i know its more of a "what are you doing with it" situation but i dont know what way is best for what i want to do with the car.

the car will typically be used on the streets of mexico quite a bit, drag strip, and back roads. i was set on twin turbos for the ease of turning up the power, but realistically i only want to keep it around 700-800 mostly around the 700 mark since i will mostly be on 93. but then again at that power level i could go with a vortech or paxton and be cheaper but i know the power comes on differently and you really dont get the full power till your higher in the rpm range.

anybody that can give me some advice or some pointers i would appreciate it. i only want to do this once so i just want to make sure its the right choice.

There are numerous threads like this in the forced induction section. I'd look in there. Any will work with the A10 and will all probably be close to the same ET at that horse power.

i figured this was a question that gets asked alot. sorry for asking it again but there are alot of options out there and i would somebody to just talk it over with me with a breakdown of pros and cons. im honestly thing a PD style would be best for what im using it for BUT i prefer bov sounds instead of whines lol i know its a silly thing to consider but its what i like lol

the 10r80 stays in the higher rpms, typically centris and twin screw like whipple are more efficient at higher rpms. Procharger stage 2 has easiest belt changes, but there is debate on crank snout stress.

Someone in classifieds is selling a D1X system Kentucky - D1X Procharger setup (low mileage) | 2015+ S550 Mustang Forum (GT, EcoBoost, GT350, GT500, Bullitt, Mach 1) - Mustang6G.com

Gonna be preeeety hard to beat that price for performance.
thanks for all the replies and information. to everyones point there is ALOT of threads going on about this scenario so im glad you are posting on here as it makes it much easier for me. centri and pd i believe is best at the higher rpms as well, but given pd has quicker torque response, i believe that would be my best option for the days i would be taking it to the strip. again i dont like the whine as much, but if its going to be a better performer for what i want to use it for, then ill live with it lol

The 10 speed gets in the high rpms fast enough I wouldn't put much consideration into it. A centri car will still blow the tires off in 1st and 2nd.

The newest whipple is pretty quiet, not a whole lot of whine. I also prefer the noises centri cars make. But what I found out is there's a very big pulley on the unit to keep it from overspinning at 8000 rpms. So doing around town hoodrat stuff, you don't get much bov noise because the blower isn't moving a ton of air until you really get into it.

The reason there are so many threads on this is because EVERY form of boost is a good choice that delivers solid results. On a manual car, the difference between PD and centri is apparent when driving. But on an A10.... you probably won't notice. I'd pick based on who has what in stock and on sale lol. You can't make a bad choice. All of them can make 700 whp on pump gas.

Since you're in STL, you can hit up HPJ. I bet they have local track data for different setups.

For the most part it seems the consensus is pd is best for the mt82-d4 because of the gearing and the A10 loves the centris. The a10 revs so quick and then stays so high in the powerband so a pd isn't a necessity. Lots of guys running crazy times with centrifugal. That being said I'm TT on my mt82 and love it. Lag is very minor even with the manual so the A10 should be into boost quick. Plus the wastegates sound wild on the hellion kit.

Considering the consensus is that they all work pretty equally well on the 10R80 I’d suggest looking at other factors that are important to you. Stuff like how it looks, if you want a warranty, if you need it to be CARB legal, how it sounds, ease of install, etc.

I live close to STL and I have a Whipple Stage 2 10R80 car. When it warms up I can give you a ride if you want. Also hit me up if you’re ever going to WWT Raceway. I get out there a few times a year.

What he said above , all the kits are pretty great. I'm running the ESS kit, the install is by far the easiest. Pulley changes are easy like procharger but the belt is run off the stock crank like paxton/vortech. Kit makes great power and my IAT's are always with 5 degs of ambient. Can't recommend this kit enough.

Like others have said there isn't a bad choice when it comes to boosting a Coyote. All will get you in that power range with room for growth as well. PD's will come in a little sooner than a Centri/ Turbo setup as well and will also have a little snappier throttle response. A centri kit will run a little cooler over a PD setup too, just due to the nature of PD's they tend to run a little higher IATs.

A Vortech/ Paxton kit would do really well for your goals as well, they're more mid to high rpm range where it seems you'll be spending some time.

Again, there isn't any wrong options when it comes to boost. Just comes down to how you want that power to come in and what your budget is.

Hit me up and I can get you dialed in for sure!

thank you all for your replies! i was talking to a friend local to me about this subject before and it looks like everybody is saying the same thing. i really didnt know with the a10 cars it really didnt matter which boost options you went with. i do want to stay with pump gas just to keep things simple and i believe for the power level that i want it can be done with any setup (also its because my wife will be driving it too and dont worry she can drive lol) now i just really need to figure what i really want for my setup. it would be awesome to get a ride in a centri and a pd car to really feel and hear the differences.

my friend has a mt whipple car and i loved it and there wasnt alot of whine without the whine mod so it would be fine. i definitely want to be obnoxious cause everything about my car is going to be that way from the exhaust down to the paint color lol but i would definitely take you up on your offer getting a ride from you. i have sat in any boosted a10 cars before so that would be awesome :)
