Does it really need to be a HP car?

I ask because I'm betting down the line it wouldn't be all that hard to add on the HP parts. Someone even mentioned the possibility of Ford Performance offering a complete 'conversion' kit.

At least that would open up options for the year/color for you

Between the 600a and 700a? My understanding is the only difference is the seats, the memory function for the driver, the 'aluminum' pedals, which I'm guessing are just screw on covers, and the door card inserts. I don't recall dash trim being different.

I was reading the GT5

I haven't made a decision on what I want to do yet. Ford has not offered anything as of now as it is still being discussed. I am considering a Lexus IS500 F-Sport as an alternative.

I sat on the IS. Kind of small. Also the Lexus dealer staff were uninterested in helping me

have you looked to see if there are any FJG cars on a dealer lot somewhere else that you could try to negotiate on?
don't forget FJG will be a '22 color so if you can hold out the exact same car is still in play for you!

None nearby. A lot don't have the handling pack and many are $70k or higher. I really have zero interest in paying more than MSRP for a car regardless of what it is.

What really sucks is I have a few parts that I bought specifically for this Mach 1 sitting here. I even have a custom touch up paint kit in Fighter Jet Gray that a guy sells on FB in a Coyote group that he self mixes to perfectly color match cars with the primer, base, and clearcoat bottles for all Mustang colors.

I was also thinking about the idea of the Mischevious Purple Mach 1 with all the loaded options. If I did go with a 2022, I'd expect the priority to be extremely high (low number) on my new order.

What burns me up for the guys on this forum is that there are quite a few dealer ordered HP cars out there with 600A.. Why not save those HP parts for customer orders and prioritize those orders over dealer orders. Customer is king right, and the car already has a buyer..

Ford dropped the ball on so many levels with this.

the problem is some of these dealers putting in customer orders when they didn't actually have a customer. theres a local dealer here that has 2 mach 1's inbound, both 700A HP cars with green window stickers. knowing how they operate i'm almost positive they cheated the system to get these cars. i'm going to go check it out when they arrive and if this is what they did, send a message to anyone at ford that i can find. its bullshit they let some dealers get away with move like this.

The problem with that is Eruption green, the HP, and Mischievous purple were all 'late availability' options from the order sheet, so even with high priority who knows when in '22 your car would actually be built. And if it takes long enough.....MY '23 with the S650 is just around the corner, unless of course that also get's pushed, though I kinda doubt it will.

Anyway these are the thoughts running through my head right now. My car isn't cancelled yet, but on the high probability chance it is, I dunno if I want to try and find something for MSRP, re-order a '22, or just wait a year for a '23. I suspect I will go with the '23 if I can't find something around MSRP, but my mood changes by the hour. What is really irritating is the lack of a plan from Ford, and the knowledge that even if we re-order, we could be sitting around for another 6+ months waiting for these cars.
