Congrats! This color combo works great on the M1 and seems to be a lot more manageable than black. The dirt does not show up as much.

Did the dealer provide any explanation about the 2-month delay in shipping once it was built?

No real explanation beyond the normal. It was pushed by Ford a couple of times before leaving the factory, then I assume the holidays slowed things as well.

The universe had some fun torturing me today. My status on shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking went briefly to 'Shipped'. I took screenshots in celebration. But it has already regressed back to 'Built'. Grrr.

I sold my 2014 Mustang GT Convertible (With like 20k miles) to the dealership, then set that money aside to pay for the Mach 1 I ordered but never was built…

Why not sell it outright and make a few thousand more? I've been stunned by the crappy offers I've received from dealers and my cars are clean and very well maintained, with records to prove it. Yes, it's a hassle, but what is your hourly rate for that hassle if you make $3,700 more as an example?

I thought about that for sure, but Maryland allows a tax break on trading a vehicle in. Instead of paying the full 6% sales tax on the car, they allow the tax to be weighed against the difference between the sale price and the trade in value. It ended up reducing the tax burden by about $1500 so it ended up being a wash. They of course know this and undervalue the trade accordingly.

After all the trials and tribulations, I brought the order home. I traded my ‘18 GT PP in on it and while it’s doesn’t feel like a wholly different car, it is distinct improvement! Tram lining is real, especially in the construction zones. Thanks to all for the help and listening to me complain.

It's beautiful, congrats! I suspect the differences won't be obvious until you get a chance to really press the car in the twisties. Plus I have to believe you are going to love the Tremec. We all have to snap a line for 'what it's worth to me'. Good for you.

Some movement finally. My MY22 is now in Transit by rail. The grizzly bear that was hibernating in it must have moved out or something.

Good. I was starting to have nightmares about having to order another MY car with drift brakes, touch-screen activated glove boxes and other e-stuff.

Four (4!) months after it got built, it has finally arrived at the dealership for me to pick it up this week. Dirty yet beautiful.

It should be fine after few brakings.

no, but familiarize yourself with the Ferodo DS2500 break-in procedures and do that. If you want to brillo/00 steel wool the rotors just because, you can of course do so. Don't worry, 2 days in the rain and your rotors will look the exact same for every year forward.
