Mazda makes a great vehicle. The Mazda gauges look like real quality sports car gauges. The mustangs look like a model in comparison and the placement is also much better on the MX-5 while the mustangs are recessed in a tunnel and too far apart.I really dislike the analog gauge setup on the Mustang. For comparison here is the dash on the Mustang v my MX-5:

Now ya'll are probably sick of my crowing about how awesome my Mazda is in terms of design and fit and finish....but just consider. On the MX-5, when you look at the gauges, the first thing you see in the prime real estate position is an oversized tachometer. Which to me, is the most important instrument (at least for a driving experience). Immediately off to the right you see a perfectly legible speedometer, and off to the right all of your ancillary indicators (temperature, fuel efficiency, odometer, gas gauge).
OK, now compare that to the Mustang GT cluster. Front and center you have.....the ancillary gauge display, with a default setting of a fuel efficiency display?! Like what the hell. OK I realize that you can reset that to show braking forces, and I think even a digital speedometer, but that's prime real estate Ford. Then off to the right and left you have the tach and speedo, but they are in deeply recessed 'wells' for styling purposes and are more difficult to see compared to the MX-5.
Anyway I'll say it again- I am very excited for my Mustang, but man do I wish Ford had some help in the interior design department *cough from Mazda cough*

yeah but on the MX it only goes to 140. You don't understand, the higher the max number on the speedo the better the car is.
You should see the Dodge speedo - completely and utterly unreadable.I wish Ford would hand over the Mustang to Mazda and have them totally rework it. We'd have a true sports car as a result.

But....the Mustang isn't a sports car. Plenty of other choices if you want one though including the new Z. Back on topic my ordered got moved back another two days according to FP.yeah but on the MX it only goes to 140. You don't understand, the higher the max number on the speedo the better the car is.
I wish Ford would hand over the Mustang to Mazda and have them totally rework it. We'd have a true sports car as a result.

I got the feeling it may have to do with the chip supply. Ford may have prioritize them for other higher volume models, such as the F150. Also, some of the components may be tougher to find for inventory (I bet there are more A10 transmissions vs Tremec in stock). Just speculation.
Ordered mine Sept. 14 from Granger and production confirmed for Nov. 22. Old man/Car & Coffee special.

right after all of y'alls got moved to the 27th, mine got pushed from that week (this week....
) and pushed into next month. the 4th, then the 11th, then the 18th, then into november. a FP call put it onto the 25th of October. So, I have been within a month based off of a FP call, but if I can make it to Friday without a delay, will be the first time I am within a month from the emails (FP does seem more accurate though)

Coming from a 2013 Mustang GT with VMP blower we had for 8 years, and a 68 Cougar XR-7 I had for a year but missed driving cars on the track. Went with the auto as we plan to keep this for a while, and an auto is just practical at times but still seems well suited to occasional track use.

I bowed out of the waiting game, ended up getting a gt500 that fate made work perfectly for me, but I need to see you guys get your Mach 1's. I still check in here to follow y'alls progress. Especially Mikepol2 lol. I really need to see him get his. I finally saw a black mach 1 drive by me the other week and it still looks just as perfect as when I saw the first image on the computer. I have no regrets with my shelby, but if I had the money to get a 2nd car right now (and no guessing game on the wait from ford) I would hands down get my mach 1 I ordered.
