Bullshit. No tire manufacturers will release a tire for a mass produced vehicle with a marginal wet rating. Sure as shit Michelin wouldn't.
You are 100% correct but it is a moot point. Look at the pictures of the wrecked car, that car wasn't driving around in standing water enough to hydroplane. No wiper outlines, no dried spray on the rear quarter windows and no grime layer on the rest of the car. It may have been a wet road but it sure wasn't enough to hydroplane otherwise it would look like my car does for most of the year. It's just another bullshit excuse from somebody who can't admit he screwed up.

Interesting. Consensus roasts this kid for totalling his car and wanting to buy a new one. Yet, in another thread a father buys his 15 year old a new mustang and all kinds of support in favor of the purchase. Crazy...
I think insurance is going to be ridiculously expensive! You may want to get a quote prior to purchasing. My bet is the insurance monthly payment will be more than the car payment.
Good luck!

Wow, you paid $4800 for 1 year of Insurance. Wait till they quote you on your next new car.
I pay under $100 month(actually 87.50) full coverage on my $50k GT/CS

sport-bike insurance for the <25 cohort is about that much.
only if you are financing/full coverage. never understood why people pay thousands for full coverage on a 3-4k motorcycle, or even a 10k motorcycle. the savings you get from just having liability/uninsured/underinsured (few hundred a year max) is worth it.

I could basically wreck a motorcycle every 2-3 years and buy a new one each time with money saved from liability. people like to finance a 2k bike, and pay that much in insurance alone while they pay bike off. ef that.

my 2018 gsxs1000 + my 05 sportster, and I had a scooter, and a gsxr 750 I was paying 155 a year for all of them. now I have a 2018 gsxs 1000, and 05 sportster only, sold the old bikes, I just paid my yearly renewal. 95 a year (87 before tax) for both bikes, year round coverage. no storage or anything.

this used to be my old stable. lol. stupid, that was my friends z900.

my .02. wait until labor day and get a new leftover GT. save you some money as the new year model comes out and they are more willing to discount older inventory. then buy whatever you want and can get a deal on. depending on the deal i would rather have factory installed gauges and stuff vs swapping in your aftermarket stuff and you can either swap it in or sell it depending on what you end up with. lastly my advice would be get a used car that will actually save you money since youre gonna get shit on with insurance. just because you can afford it doesnt mean you should. be smart and buy a house.

your low rates are mostly a function of geography. Even my 690SM is $200/yr.

My insurance literally doubled when I moved from Ohio to Utah. The rates here are absurd. I mean I know the drivers are bad, but my area must have a huge pool of uninsured or unlicensed drivers flying around. The no fault crap also doesn't help, I'm sure.

I’m a turtle guys. Lol I don’t have a single citation or wreck on my record. I’m slowest person on this forum hands down. I often do 65 in 65 and hold strong while people pass me on left going triple digits. I have no shame

I believe the other Dad got his son an Eco Boost- not a GT
I can support an Eco Boost if left stock - still a quick car but no where near as dangerous as a GT for an inexperienced driver

I don't either lol. And I've had a CDL since I was 19! It's madness.
