Ohio’s Average Homeowners and Auto Insurance Premiums Among Lowest in CountryMy insurance literally doubled when I moved from Ohio to Utah. The rates here are absurd. I mean I know the drivers are bad, but my area must have a huge pool of uninsured or unlicensed drivers flying around. The no fault crap also doesn't help, I'm sure.
Ohio insurance consumers pay among the lowest average homeowners and automobile insurance premiums in the country, according to the most recent data available from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
Ohioans paid an average of $874 (8th lowest) for homeowners insurance and $795 (11th lowest) for auto insurance in 2018. Those figures compared to the national averages of $1,249 and $1,057, respectively, produced a combined savings of $637 on average for Ohioans.
