From what I understand there is only one company selling software that lets you mess with MR and it's not out yet. I could be wrong... I haven't seen a thing on this forum from an actual *USER* of said software.
I had no idea this was a thing. I've been running the DSC since October or so. It replaces the stock magneride controller & has its own dedicated software.

I have never had a problem being wrong :) I stand corrected. Guess I haven't been in the right threads..

Someone else could very well be working in what you've describe, I just haven't seen it.

I'd really like to know the difference in the Mach1, PPL2 and FP magneride tunes.
I would bet they are all 3 are very similar. The FP tune is for PP1 cars with Magenride. It states when upgrading a PP2 car you only need the springs and bars. I'm also guessing the Mach 1 is very similar but you get the added bonus of better trans, more power(?), and the coolers. I guess if they state upgrading the Mach 1 with the same springs and bars is done with out a Magneride tune then we'll know.

Which to me says that the tunes are NOT specific to the bars/springs of each car, likely just to the struts.

Yeah that makes sense. You just need the tune so the shocks/struts can handle the stiffer springs/bars and apparently the PP2 tune is already good enough for that.

Yeah, I just would have thought that the way Ford talks/brags about them that the mach1/PPL2/FPP kits would be dialed in more specifically for the OEM springs/bars they come with.

Not a suspension tuning expert but it's meant to adaptive - so springs/bar shouldn't matter that much as it should be able to see that through inputs from the car it gets on the CAN bus (ride height sensors, G loads, brake pressure and who knows what else) - the different calibrations are probably more about how it responds to those inputs.

Also, you have to keep in mind that the internal valving of the dampers is still in play. Even if you have the same map on a different models, you don't necessarily have the same forces at the wheel. I felt the standard Magneride tuning on my HPP was very similar in all modes, but I probably wouldn't think this if I were using GT350R struts and shocks, which have different internals.

If we could figure out how to mess with the Magnaride settings like the FORSCAN does with other settings, that'd be perfect.

The guy from Ford does something along those lines. That the magneride system is pretty robust, but with the [big?] the changes caused by the new springs and the anti-roll bars, and the system not expecting [that big?] changes, they wanted to change the magneride calibration:

Steeda told me they've installed hundreds on lowering kits and never installed any VDM software.

Of course - they don't have any to install. Is it necessary ? Does everyone lowering their non-Magneride Mustang change shocks ? No. Does it make sense to do so ? Absolutely. It's much less of a case (IMO) with Magneride and the VDM software is supposed to improve behavior on the track which 99.99% lowered Mustangs will never ever see. They're lowered because "gap is too large".
