I do have a serious question. My brother is fixing up a 2019 PP2 in Poland. (He loved mine here in the States, so he got one for himself - just needs a little love) And he needs radiators, but nobody can tell him if they are the same as PP1 or they are "special" - can someone please help? My dealership had no idea when I called them LOL

If he has a PP2 then what's the question just order that?

Just to satisfy a curiosity, have go V

Make to 2 calls, first ask parts for the PP1, part number.

Hang up have an adult beverage. Second call change PP1 to PP2.

* Any company that builds radiators. Will have a spec it they differ.
You get an answer like they are the same. Go back to Ford and order it.

Using one of those 3 should get you the information .

I know that the naming convention in the Ford parts system is strange, and the PP2 is frequently called out as “Platinum Performance”. That may be a clue. I also know that the Ecoboost cars with Performance Package got HD cooling as standard. I assume that the GTPP1 also got HD cooling. It does not seem that PP2 got any other special cooling vs. the PP1. Could also compare PN’s between 350 and 350R as well. I would expect the 350R to have the highest capacity cooling system but that’s just a WAG.

I tried to help him in another thread - all Ford parts sites only show two radiator P/Ns - one used on non-PP cars, and one used on PP1 and GT350. I am fairly certain PP2 uses that one. I have told him to try PMing Benny from Levittown with a VIN - he'll tell him exactly what P/N he needs. Or you can call any Ford parts department with VIN of PP2 car and ask for a radiator for that car. It will literally take 2 minutes. If you give me your VIN, I'll do it for you.

To the posters above - PP2 isn't sold in Europe. PP1 isn't really either. So calling dealer and talking about performance packages isn't going to be very helpful.

I would expect the rivet to be a R6 * 12L but do not quote me on this.

I can now confirm two things:

1) The OEM Ford rivets are pieces of shit. A quarter of mine didn’t grip right or at all.

2) The 6.3mm off-brands worked GREAT. After nuking a bunch of the OEM rivets, I ran down to Harbor freight and picked up two POM assortments. These were a world better - they snapped tight every time and were easier to use with the wonky POM tool. You need 21 rivets for the splitter and only 20 come in the pack, but two packs are only $20 so no heartburn.

Pro-tip: install ALL of the small screws first, leaving them loose. Then push in all of the rivets. Pop the rivets starting in the middle and tighten the screws when everything is done.

All of those rivets are just loose in the holes in the pic. Easier to see that way... but most of the rivets did snap off flush or just below flush. There were 3-4 that needed two pulls to snap and they did leave about a 2mm nub poking out. I nipped those off with cutters so I wouldn’t scalp myself in the future...

@kz and @Rapid Red have good info - The PP2 cars were built using the PP1 cars as a base - some things are the same, some are obviously PP2-specific. (Some things like ABS and stability system tuning/programming are also PP2-specific, and can't be replicated easily, if at all)
Things like the Brembo brakes and the Radiator on the PP1 are the same as those on the PP2. Whatever the PP1 part number is, this should be the same for the PP2.

The only thing is, between model years, there can be minor changes, so if you have a 2019 PP2, try and make sure you get a 2019 PP1 radiator. Or, hopefully with the info/link that @kz has provided, this can get you an exact match.

They're either wrong or you're reading them very very wrong. You do not seriously believe you have larger brakes, do you ?

This would contradict information I've seen.
Also, some initial press releases for the PP2 also made things confusing, the way things were worded - it made it seem that the PP2 had Brembo Brakes and Radiators that were larger than that of the PP1, when in fact, those components were the same bewteen PP1 and PP2, at least for these two examples of components.

The other thing is, if you look at parts catalogs, the Motorcraft Brake Pad Part#s also seem to change year to year due to whatever upates, but the applications remain the same.

Well, being a Ford dealer does allow us quite a bit more information than most people have and in the Canadian order guides that is what was written for the 2019 PP2. It might be interesting to note that in the 2021 order guides the 2021 PP1 gets the former PP2 radiator. The brake part numbers for the 2019 PP1 and PP2 are different, I just secured the last set of PP2 front brake pads in Canada. With Ford, part numbers are produced from the VIN of your car.
