Yep remember we exchange quite a few messages when you were trying to figure where to run the turn on cable to get rid of the thump. The JL Audio is a great sub and would work for those that aren't like us and need a real enclosure. :)

that’s bad ass. Is that a tw series? Has to be

oh you’re saying you put another box in there? I did the same dual tw1 box
Most probably a W1, not a tw. A tw has a different cone.

I used this JL Audio, but since I like to feel the bass, no 10" in that small enclosure is going to work for me. I left it in there, even though I unhooked it and installed a real 12" subwoofer enclosure. BTW I didn't break my trim ring when I removed it.

That speaker is also 267mm outer diameter and so also just fits without having to remove the ridges. Single voice coil though.

Just to help people out, here are a few measurements. B&O enclosure: Remember 267mm will fit inside the ridges and about 277 inside the main recess. Maximum depth is 146mm (or 160mm with mild modification) Nothing in excess of 160mm deep will fit without a spacer.

Inner hole size, outer size, depth, sensitivity, dual or single coil (all 4 ohm unless stated)

Pioneer TS-A250D4 (TS-A100D4 in the US) - 230 , 267 , 77, 133, dual (£70)
Dayton RSS265HO-4 - 230, 267, 87, 137, single ($135 NOT UK)
Dayton RSS265HO-44 - 235, 266, 90, 137, dual (will not fit without modification)($155 NOT UK)
Focal RSB-250 - 233, 271, 88, 117, dual (will not fit without modification) (£90)
Rockford Fosgate R2SD4 - 232, 275, 82, 87, dual (will not fit without modification)(£75)
JL10W0V3-4 - 230, 267, 84, 124, single (£100)
Focal 25A4 - 230, 260, 85, 126, single (£80)
Rockford Fosgate R2D4 - 232, 275, 89, 110, single (will not fit without modification) (£70)
Rockford Fosgate P2D4-10 - 232, 280(exc trim ring), 84, 150, dual (will not fit without modification) (£120)

The Dayton RSS265HO-4 is a single voice coil subwoofer driver.
The Dayton RSS265HO-44 is the dual voice coil version that needs a much larger enclosure.

The one I have is the JL10W1V3-4, it's a lot better than the one you listed and cost about twice the price.

If anyone wants the JL Audio 10W1V3-4 that I have, I will sell it for $180 shipped since I don't have it hooked up. They are $210 in the stores.

I've added it to the list. I would have to say I am very pleased with the Pioneer at £70 but it is obviously up to the individual what they are prepared to pay. I have added an idea of UK prices to the list to give a flavour of the cost.

Not according to the specs at Parts Express...

https://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-rss265ho-44-10-reference-ho-dvc-subwoofer--295-463

According to Parts Express it's dual 4 Ohm.
Don't get me wrong, but if people buy them thinking they can get 4 Ohm by connecting the voice coils in series they will wonder why they don't get the output they want afterwards...
Yup. A dual 4-ohm driver will get you an 8-ohm load wired in series or a 2-ohm load wired in parallel. No other ohm loads are possible. Unless you totally screw it up and only wire 1 voice coil to the amp. Then you have bigger problems to worry about!

You are correct.

It's a rather confusing bit of identification. It clearly says 2 ohm in the title but dual 4 ohm in the information. Other companies don't describe similar speakers that way.

The Pioneer is 70.00 on Amazon. Can't go wrong there!
