The Dodge Challenger and Camaro SS and ZL1 trims use it (TR3160 family). Ford was "stupid" and only allowed it to grace the GT350 lineup. There was no excuse for the PP2/Bullitt to get short-changed. Except Marketing had to stick their nose in where it doesn't belong and fk it up for the rest of us.

If ford ever decide to sell the gt here in the U.K. with a tremec manual box (or better still a zf 8hp auto box) I would buy one, regardless of the badge they put on it! The mt 82 and the a10 are sadly reasons for me not to buy another mustang. Inconsistent Panel gaps and a low rent interior I can live with or improve. A poor gearbox that locks out second gear at high rpm I am stuck with. A box with so many cogs it’s sounds like a cvt is equally undesirable.

I have a bad feeling that this will be a manual only car.
I believe the Bullitt sold only half as many cars as it could have due to no A10.
This is 2020 and many would like an auto, but Ford still clings to the manual only for its specialty vehicles going back to the SVT Cobras and up to recent releases (Boss 302, PP2, PP1 for years, Bullitt).
The shame of it is they are well capable of an auto in these vehicles with only occasional teases (PP1 in 2015 on the LE, 2003-04 Mach1 with Cobra motor).
Increase sales by at least 30% or more and offer an A10 in the 2021 Mach1.

I spotted this too. At this late in the game, I'd be surprised if the production version used a "proper" wider fender, which is a shame.

Note also, the car in the front end shot doesn't feature the big wing. Two versions? One more road orientated MP4S tires and a "track pack" with Cup2s?

I'm not so sure on it being a diff car. I think that the angle makes it hard to tell the spoiler apart, but there does appear to be a pattern separation in the camo, and more of a rise than the fastback has in the rear of the body.


scratch this, convinced they are two seperate cars after looking at fenders and exact camo layout/patterns, or two seperate iterations of same car.

My bad. I failed to spot its 2 different cars. The camo pattern over the front fender above the wheel is very different.
Shot 1 has stock fenders.
Shots 2&3 are rolled wider with a lip, presumably to cover the cup2 305’s. Which to me suggests shot 1 is running narrower front rubber.
As you say, may be a street and track difference or maybe they are still evaluating both options.

it's not like Ford doesn't have the press jigs for proper, wider fenders... The flat-black ABS fender extensions on the Corvette GrandSport/Z06 look like ass. It would not be a point in Ford's favor to copy such nonsense.

They will put an A10 in the car. The Bullitt is a tribute to a movie car so it has to stick with the manual.
My HP guess is 505 just because it's just over 500 and it needs a HP bump.

100% agree, which is why I didn't keep my 6 spd WW LE and didn't pull the trigger on the most recent Bullitts. Add the tremec to this Mach 1 and I'm possible in if price is reasonable...

As someone who is currently looking at a Bullitt and Scat Pack Widebody, I am 100% willing to wait for this.

However, as many have mentioned...the transmission is a major point of concern. The recent offering of MT82 is leagues better than the first gen was (where I have most of my experience), but since the gearing change for 18'+ models, the car is a dog. Not being able to reach the top of 4th gear is a joke. I can't see them changing the ratios or going with an aggressive rear gear (4.30 anyone?), so an A10 NEEDS to be an option...unless they end up tossing a TR in there.

TR3160 + 4.10 or 4.30 would be absolute perfection. Why have one of the best high revving V8's out there and saddle it with boringly long and slow gear ratios?

The 1969-70 Mach I was really just a cosmetic package. The base engine was a 351 Windsor 2 barrel. Serious dog. I am definitely for the Mach I but as it was originally intended. A car that looked cool and could be had with a grocery getter engine or the 428CJ. Stick or auto.

Making this a "track only" car will likely exclude me. And, I was looking forward to it as a more nostalgic kind of car.

My 2018 with 265 20 wheels/tires with standard suspension and A10 355 gears is just a absolute dream to drive. Even in "normal" mode with MagneRide my Bullitt feels a bit harsh on bumpy roads. Not the '18. If I floor the '18 (often) and there are bumps, holes in the road through the curve it sticks better than the Bullitt. My G force gauge proved it.

Ford, make it like the CS only maybe more HP and traditional Mach 1 stuff. Definitely in auto. This stick only stuff is foolish.
