So this reveal raises one big question. Will this front bumper be on all 2021 models? On the first prototypes we definitely saw the old bumper with strangely positioned turn signal housings. So did they fool all of us with a fake frontend? I can't really imagine they would build a unique bumper for the Mach 1 models

What's the point of this car? Why not just get a slightly used gt350? Why didnt they use the 5.2 but with a cross plane crank? If this car doesn't get the Tremec manual or an option for the dct then I dont see what the point of this car is. They're gonna add coolers obviously. For engine mods they will give it the bullit treatment. This car seems irrelevant already.

I just can't see the 350 going away forever, and the Mach replacing it. It does not make any sense. The Mach name is not going to carry a 60K car to profitability. There are Bullitt's with cobwebs on them...

Shelby is a name ingrained with the Mustang. Ford would absolutely have lost their mind to drop 350 and replace it with the Mach. The 350 is worth every nickle, and a lot of that comes from the Shelby name itself.

I'm sticking with the Mach being a stopover for a couple years until the 350 returns...
The GT350 was originally going to be a 3 year run here we are in year 5. Historically the GT350 and GT500 have always been limited production years.
Put a A10 in a Mach 1 with coolers (hopefully stock), real brakes (stock), and E85 tune and that will out run/track a stock GT350 all day long.

It is a rebadged PP2 with the Bullitt's engine, 500 brakes it looks like, and maybe a few additional coolers.
re: underlined

They're GT PP / PP2 / Bullit calipers, did a visual comparison (they're not even close to the beastly brakes on the GT500).

Chances they offer the DCT from the GT500??
Almost none. I suspect this will get a manual 6-speed and the 10-speed, with __maybe__ the manual being a T6060, but most likely just sticking with the MT82.

to be a more factory track ready variant of the GT PP2 and Bullitt? to be a 50yr anniversary for the best mach 1s ever, the 71? But yet not to surpass the Halo Shelbys. I can agree with adding the tremec and DCT however, but keeping it a 5.0 car

Is the Tr3160 (thanks for the correction BD) used in any other car or was it developed purely for the gt350?
If so does ford have a commitment to buy more of them to amortise the development cost?

Looks to me like a pp2 replacement with wider fenders to cover the wheels so it can be sold in all markets. With the gt350 ending, I bet they pitch this at nearly gt350 money too.

Look very closely at those front fenders from all angles. They aren’t widened properly, they just have a rolled lip to increase the width! At first I thought they were properly wider like the gt350 parts but I don’t think these are. Pre prod parts maybe? Or are ford cutting costs and using modified stock sheet metal?

... because Ford business plans don't factor in the used market. They're looking forward to how they're going to start filling in the model gaps between a PP1/PP2 and the GT500, with the removal of the GT350 (and 5.2L Voodoo).

Honestly, if they were going to really "fill upwards", this car was easy - right from the parts bin:

5.0L w/ Bullit changes, maybe even a little extra tweak to 490-495HP
PP2 aero / wheel sizes
GT350 brakes
T6060 or A10
Oil/tranny coolers

Plus all the expected badges, stripes, and misc non-performance related bullshit.

What's the point of this car?
to charge outrageous premium for "stickers and boubles", naturally. :)
actually, "to generate Internet buzz and somehow make Ford relevant again".

The grill is just an insert. I wouldn't be surprised if the "new" bumper is the face-lift edition that goes into all trims of 2021 (except GT500). In the down-market trims the lower corner 'vents' are for show only just like all the other guys are doing.

It won't top a GT350......I'm sure they're specific in say "top spot in the 5.0 performance"...........it'd imagine a suspension/brake setup being a mix of PP2/GT350 along with the coolers from the GT350. Power-wise, hopefully a little more than the Bullitt.......500hp would be cool

The GT 350 does not use the T6060 - it uses the TR 3160

Well, I told myself if this was just another glorified Bullitt with badges and no gains, I wouldn't bite, but if it does hit that 500 hp mark and has a 10-speed, my 2017 will be for sale.

The Dodge Challenger and Camaro SS and ZL1 trims use it (TR3160 family). Ford was "stupid" and only allowed it to grace the GT350 lineup. There was no excuse for the PP2/Bullitt to get short-changed. Except Marketing had to stick their nose in where it doesn't belong and fk it up for the rest of us.

I spotted this too. At this late in the game, I'd be surprised if the production version used a "proper" wider fender, which is a shame.

Note also, the car in the front end shot doesn't feature the big wing. Two versions? One more road orientated MP4S tires and a "track pack" with Cup2s?
