well it was a learning curve lol that key was just sitting in garage I forgot to give it to Ford when they bought my 2019 back
so I will just hang it on wall I guess and order a new key

The extra keys I had for my '18 car were both dealer-programmed for that car; I was able to make them work on the new '19. It took a few tries, but I followed the User Manual procedure very carefully, after removing all the key ring attachments and other potential interfering metallic objects. Oriented the fobs in the programming slot with the push buttons faced forward (toward front of car).

just put a qt of oil in it.. only 2600 miles on the car at the moment..

hopefully thats just "break in usage" and not something that is going to be a common occurrence..
Yeah they say it is normal, but would still bug me until it proves out.

I got mine at 40 miles and have beaten on it pretty hard from time to time. Currently at 2400+ and level is still good (factory fill). I check it every weekend.

I wouldn't worry too much, I just put half a quart in at 2100 miles. You should see a decrease in consumption around 4 or 5k

Yeah I’m mildly concerned about mine.

last summer I was a little over 1.5qts low when I changed it in June. The car sat untouched from August until late October because I had surgery.

Once I finally started driving again it wasn’t much. So it took me until February to get to where I needed a change. I added half a quart sometime in December.

From Feb 29th until last Saturday I put 15xx miles on it. I checked the oil and it barely got to the bottom of the lower fill hole on the dip stick.

So I took it in for Ford to do an oil consumption test. I’ll put the 1k miles on it and then take it back in to see what the verdict is.

I was about to buy the Lund Flex tune this weekend as my first “power adder” mod so I figured I’d get this done just to be safe before I start getting into things tht can mess with warranty.

Do either of you guys have the BBQ tick? My car doesn't. Doesn't seem to consume much if any oil unless I'm playing around the 7,000RPM mark, since I didn't start doing that until I'd gotten past 1000 miles.

Been meaning to ask this since I first heard about the BBQ tick. I presume that is in reference to a BBQ grills electric starter that ignites the propane?

let me try this again lol last post I accidentally attached a bunch of meaningless pics when I was scrolling to find the video clip of my tick.

yes I have it.

Mine started it about six months into owning the car. Originally I thought it was something knocking in the bell housing because it was bottom end passenger side. And when I crawled under there it was hard to tell whether it was from the trans or motor.

I figured if I blow it then I blow it and I’d get a new motor under warranty. I took it into Ford and the people there said it was fine and then a week or so later is when the TSB came out saying it was normal.

Yeah I was wondering why you had all those photos, haha. But yeah, that's kind of my philosophy on it. If she blows, she blows. The tick is normal, and so is some oil consumption. Ford's spec is anything more than a quart in 3000 miles it would seem, going by how they treated the F150. But at the same time they say that on the 5.2 Voodoo 1qt in 1000 miles is normal, lol. High revving motors do tend to use more oil, that's just a given. And the coyote still revs pretty high. But in your case if you're using a quart by 2,000 miles that seems a little excessive, so they might give you a new shortblock.

I'll wait and see on my car, I had literally no loss at all for the first 1000 miles but I was pretty gentle to it, from 1-2000 the car saw a lot more high RPM action, so to me using half a quart in that time frame is pretty reasonable. But we'll see if it persists, reduces as the break-in finishes, or gets worse.
