Props to this car getting that close to my ZR1. The DCT is a game changer...with the 760/625 power figures it shouldn’t be this close to the ZR1. Weight is still not available for some reason but it will be a 4000lb car. The dct carries the torque much better. Good time to be a car guy!

My fingers are crossed that the C8 performs and keeps GT500 prices in check so that more Ford fans like myself can get one at a reasonable price. I like my Z06 but I bleed Ford blue and look forward to getting back into a GT500.
I was gonna say I cant pretend I can afford it but by the time I get an engine back in my 19 GT I may have 60 in it so I could reach to 60s I guess....LOL

Alright, one more. Car and driver states with the 0-100-0 of 10.6, the GT500 should accelerate from 0-100 in 6.7seconds.

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a28609956/ford-mustang-shelby-gt500-acceleration-braking/
I've run several cars in the 3900 to 4000lb range ( I'm tall and fat) NA it take about real world decent 1.7x 60ft or better and 96ish to go 7.0 in 1/8th so that 6.6 to 6.7s NA at 720hp I used to run 103ish no gear super tight stall and high 1.5x low 1.6x when I was that speed...6.7s NA to this would skew a bit in 1/4...its surely mid 10 car with any bite...

Neither the C8 or GT500 was built for the 1/4 mile. Dunno why people are so fixated on it.
It's all 98 percent of the world can run or had run...stop light to stop light, flash light to head light, or at the strip....been into building tuning and racing cars for 30 years and never sniffed a track...just arent any around me plus the insane barrier to entry...and I'm fat the ballast alone....hehe
The average person identifies with straight line racing hence the resurgence of dodge via the Demon but the ACR being retired should show the other manufacturers what the majority want....
The better question is with several track only cars already wh build another? It's not gonna beat them anyway...and 2.8 seconds out the C8 NA sheeet imagine the advantage it will have on the street with weight bias alone.....
They ALL need to build a 1/4 mile car with a little balance, they already have track variants.....
Cant even imagine if real how many Blue Collar average Joe's will stretch to 60k for the C8.....by the time you put a 2650tvs on a GT 401a premium your there...like me :( LOL...
I can appreciate the GT500 for sure and it looks insanely wicked hope they make that nose in a year or so I can get.....but most dont need a track car but almost anyone can find a drag strip or country road.....you have the gt350r why NOT build us our 1/4 mile car...this just seems like a 350r with a 2650tvs on it anyway...

None of the specs matter to me. I am buying a GT500 simply because I can and I want one.

Thats just because the SC takes some hp to spin so the cooling system has to take that into account.

But why if its inferior? I'm new to Ford I dont get it....if a C8 can out perform it for same money on street and track and strip why would you? I really am curious?
I mean to me it looks like any other S550 with some different cosmetics and the tried and true 2650tvs?
If your gonna track it buy cars the beat it, if your gonna strip it buy cars that beat it in same price range, if its cause you like s550 just build you one to stomp it and look even more custom...

I swear to God I'm not even being an ass, no stock car has ever been how I would do everything so I've never had the desire for the top model ( though I do like the digital dash hehe) I prefer to make someone that whips its ass for less and be mine....as in I built it engine and all....( might be hard with an a10 or DCT haha ).
I have always wondered I've had several Mopar buds over years, want this or that slow over prices car with cosmetics ect...is it a highlander effect kinda where it's a GT500 so automagically badass like you get a spiritual experience from driving a car with a badge you had no input on the production from? And I really dkmt know how to ask that not like a jackass but I swear I'm not being one to ME the adventure of making it better than stock has always been the fun....
For instance not picking on the GT500 I wouldnt want a demon either I ordered a 1320 and was going to take that and make it faster than most Demons for less money...thought that was a cool concept ( it's a demon in a lot of ways already).
So if say there was a GT premium that Ford released and though it was called a Mustang GT it outperformed a GT500 in every way for less money, you would I assume still want the badge, I guess?
That's a bad message to send to Ford they need to whip Mopar and the C8s ass....however now that i am a Ford guy i love the C8 ASSUMED success...cause neither are really out and putting down numbers but I know it puts pressure to drive down all cars cost in a range where I could or would buy.....
Not being an ass at all I swear but the GT500 at 100k plus had all the shine taken off it with a mid engine C8 at 65k that probably beats in on the street light to light.....and that's good for me cause my big ass barely fits in a s550 haha....now drop them prices or drop that et ford

Agree and that sounds about right for 13 or 14 psi that 2650 eaton rotor pack is nice and efficient!!!

Because it is the car that I want. I am not going to race it on the track, I am not going to race it on the drag strip. I don't care if it is faster or slower than other cars that compete against especially since I am not going to race it. As I said before the specs don't matter to me. I am buying the car simply because I want it and I can afford it. I never raced my GT350 on a track and I never raced my GT350 on a drag strip. I don't need to do so to enjoy my cars. I don't need to justify buying a GT500 becasue it is faster or slower than anything else. It is my money and I want what I want and nobody will convince me otherwise. Cars are just an expensive hobby for most of us on these threads. Im not getting paid to race so I am not looking to do so. I will probably just shine it up real good and drive it on the weekends out to eat and then to a movie! LOL!

By the way I have never driven my GT350 more than 100 mph and I have never taken it to the 8,250 redline. Just because it can doesn't mean I need to do so to enjoy the car....ROLF! I haven't taken it to the Nürburgring either...how about that?!!!! and I still enjoy the car.
