damn, vs a GT:
Cross weight:52.21%
Weight distribution: 54/46
TOTAL: 3701 lbs.

vs 350
Weight: 3761 lbs

Did they bolt in some extra lead plates for better traction and faster speeds?

The only thing that is blatantly heavy are the front rotors which are so damn big they probably weigh 80 lbs each. I hope that weight isnt true but supercharger does also add weight, extra coolers and cooling capacity adds weight, bigger wheels and tires add weight. Not sure if the suspension components are beefed up too to take the extra weight which would add more weight.. damn

it's only 75 lbs more than I thought it would be.
I can see, additionally, why they are keeping the 350. More finesse vs brute.

from article
larger displacement (bigger bores and longer strokes) means bigger vibrations, which is why it was so shocking to see Ford launch a 5.2-liter flat-plane-crank V-8. There's a reason Ferrari's flat-plane-crank twin-turbo DOHC V-8 is 3.9 liters and McLaren's is 3.8. Expect the C8's displacement to grow from the Blackwing's 4.2 liters, but fall well short of the 5.5-liter number that's been thrown around. The number of issues Ford has had with Voodoo engine failures alone should dispel any notion of Chevrolet going to an even larger displacement.
Twin-turbo for the Z06 is perfectly reasonable. Twin-cam, also by stealing the BlackWing block. Flat-plane, not gonna happen unless they take a big bite out of displacement. Ford already went there with the Voodoo and engineering bragging rights have scant payback in the market and only then if you're "first". GM is smarter than to go down that dead-end. I expect Chevy to bring the COPO engine principles to production - high-revving cross-plane which is far more attainable goal for "cheap". But it's FAR more likely just taking the current LT2 and slapping FI on it. The C8.R may well run a flat-plane+FI BlackWing as an R&D exercise, but it's several years too late to even think about such things for a production car.

Why are people fixated on this over inflated 0-60 time of the C8, it will not do 2.8 seconds lol. It will maybe do 3.5 ish but again, it will not break 3 seconds, my god.
Don’t wanna put a 100$ on it not breaking a 3 would you?
I'll take that bet on it not doing a sub 3sec 0-60 mph (no 1ft rollout) at its 495 hp rating.

Im sure the but but but but will come in now but [email protected] is the paypal ;)
