Guy that took the video said it had a V8 sound!
Couldn't possibly have been a tweaked 5.0 (Mach 1, Bullit, Boss), or the next 5.2 (GT350), or Mach E with a Coyote and 2 electric motors. No way. Definitely the 7.3, right? Especially when you see 7.3 Mustangs everywhere....

Seems like a real far reach, and I know they legalized it in Canada, but didn't know it would give people 7.3L transplant hallucinations ... lol.

It’s not a hallucination- it a dream:

The more I think about it, the more I think that's what it was. Bulged front fenders to signify AWD. Timing is right, direction of the company matches, and the look is right. Yup. That's my bet. Mach E.

When I look at that motor, I see Coyote. Fat guy sees 7.3 dump truck engine.

Not on a hybrid.

Crap - two Toronto playoff games going on at the same time and losing all. I can’t watch anymore!

Edit: Raptors ahead!

Raptors win!

I officially give up on the Leafs...

Told yeah the maple laughs would lose, as the rest of Canada was cheering for Boston.

I’m done with the leafs! The most most money of any hockey team in the world and they can’t make a winning team - a 52 year drought!

They were probably too busy thinking about big block V8 transplants into Mustangs to concentrate on playing the game ... lol. :bandit:

These over priced jokers can get whatever they want without resorting to crazy ideas like big block swaps. I was like 7 years old the last time they won the Stanley Cup and now I’m pushing 60! The team has the most money in the world and could and should have the best players money can buy.

The cheapest playoff seat behind a pillar in the nose bleed area is like 1,000.00 and a balcony is 10,000.00 - for one game! That is Toronto - the hockey town! Real fans fly to the opposing team games and the travel, hotel and all is still way cheaper than seeing it in Toronto. Don’t even get me get started with this!

The Raptors, on the other hand, beat the Magic last night winning the series and face off against the 76ers next. The so called Drake curse is supposedly debunked now, but I would still ban his ugly mug from showing up during a playoff game.

That’s what happened last night...

There is one thing I’d like to come back to, seeing so many engineers in the thread, before this thing dies out.

On thing is this idea of stepping back as an engineer and asking yourself if you or your team should be going down this path. Without oversight one would expect engineers to produce faster and faster cars. But humans have physical reaction times that are constant. There is a limit to performance.

But here is the rub...

Is it better to have the engineers restrict themselves and possibly restrict their skill and creativity for social responsibility -or - let those creative horses run free but have their overlords (bosses or governments) keep their creativity in check? Like restrictor plates in F1 engines or imposed speed restrictions on car makers in Europe. Someone has to protect people from themselves and this not only includes the public but also the engineers. The social designers usually end up with this task as I think having the engineers close off development and creativity - on their own - does not advance culture and technology even under the guise of public safety. Plus the engineers would probably be unhappy that way.

But there are other ways...

Like tricking Fatguy who wants the torque down low, you can give people what they want by thinking outside the box. You can give customers the thrill of speed and keep it safe all at the same time. When I was a teenager my dad had an original Austin Mini. Rubber ball suspension, sliding side windows and a cable to open the door inside. When you drove that car all out at 55mph or so you felt like you were going really fast! But you were actually at a safe speed all within the human envelope of reaction time. So instead of developing 200mph cars that quickly get people into trouble. How about straying away from numbers and improving them, and focus on the experience and sensations of driving that particular car. Giving luxury cars a totally isolated experience and giving performance cars the opposite with no sound insulation and physical connections to the road with manual steering, cable throttles and brakes that you can feel responses through the pedal! You can do this all at normal speeds and on regular roads that humans will drive on...

How about giving that idea a shot?

Probably because people like you are such a minority, we could never sell enough cars to cover development costs. Personally, I bough my car for performance. Why would I want to develop a car with anemic steering response, throttle that barely responds until you mash the gas, and brakes that can barely stop a Miata? If you want an old slow muscle car, go buy one. It doesn't require an auto manufacturer to develop a car that would fail every safety test out there. It doesn't require millions of dollars to develop a vehicle that is 5-steps back in technology. Your dream car already exists, so don't force the rest of us to suffer for your desires. I am here to make cars perform better and more efficient. If those things weren't a desire for a majority of car buyers, I wouldn't even have a job.

So I take it you will not self-regulate as engineers... :cwl:

We are here to make money. It has nothing to do with what I personally want, it's what the market wants. We spend a lot of money to understand this.
