Letter to FORD addressing ADM?

Only a fool would pay ADM on a depreciating asset. (A timeless Thomas Tusser quote comes to mind). Paying over MSRP for a production line, mass produced car that in five years will be nothing more than a used Mustang/Camaro/Challenger that is now outperformed by the latest and greatest, is absurd.

The "value" (other than driving) in the latest generation USA made pony GTs is the astonishing level of performance per dollar spent. ADM negates that.

If money is no object, why settle for a GT500/ZLE/SRTwidebody? Perhaps a hand built exotic is in order.

Just saying. Let the hate fest begin​

I'd rather wait for the used GT350's and 350R's with hardly any miles to get traded in for the GT500's. That's when the bargains begin. That's my kind of price range since I'm not a baller apparently.

FWIW, the advantage of a new car other than warranty and as others have mentioned a "relationship" with your dealer. Is that you have 100% control over a proper break in and subsequent maintenance.

That level of peace of mind is IMHO, valuable to many enthusiasts.

That's not necessarily true. With a desired muscle car that is likely to be beat on and likely to be kept long term, I think it makes perfect sense. For a daily driver minivan, maybe not.

Lol - MAYBE... But you think these same dealers that everyone is damning for GT500 ADMs is going to pass the lowish trade-in price they paid on a GT350R, to the customer? Trade-ins are their bread and butter. I can only imagine that the good deals you're expecting will end up at MSRP or maybe a slight discount.

I'm the person who paid $6140 under MSRP for my 2018 base R from Beach Ford, Virgina Beach in January 2019. That was their asking price on their website. I'm a firm believer of not paying ADM and just wait for the hype to die down.

the piece of mind for having and able to aquire a new car at initial release, is valuable to many enthusiasts. Dont care about warranty, it will be voided as soon as the aftermarket allows it.

Not here to condone ADM's but when was the last time that GM ever produced a Pony Car that actually commanded an ADM as it sure wasn't a 2014/2015 Z28 or your ZL1 1LE?

When was the last time that the Camaro outsold the Mustang aside from a month here or there? Been a long time and GM knows they have a serious problem with Mustang hammering Camaro year after year in sales volumes.

It all comes down to supply and demand with the demand being much greater for the last generation GT500's, Boss 302's, GT350/R's and now the upcoming 2020 GT500 thus unfortunately ADM's come into play.

I find it interesting that someone that owns a Camaro would come on to a Mustang forum and preach to us hard working individuals as to why we are so foolish for spending whatever amount of money for a Pony Car that we are all passionate about.

Have to wonder who the real fool is?

I think GM has sold about 5 million Camaros and Ford has sold about 10 million Mustangs, if I recall correctly.

They had that car forever too. I bought my GT there 4 September and that car was on that lot then.

I didn't look close. As much as i love the R, it wouldn't suit me as a DD.
