Letter to FORD addressing ADM?

This kind of goes along with a discussion earlier in this thread, about the GT500 being a Shelby car, and it's like they want to artificially limit availability to create more "mystique" and value with the Shelby/Cobra marque.

EXACTLY - as you ask for more performance, the cost goes up exponentially. And the cheap cars today are faster than those expensive, top of the line cars of only a few years ago. Automotive performance half-life is very short. It's a losing game to try to be on top of that curve.

I get it - there's a cool factor to driving a Porsche and you really enjoy that. I don't really care about that part. I'm not choosing a car to try to impress other people with it.

Most guys I know who drive a Porsche couldn't tell be the difference between a camshaft and a crankshaft. Performance aside, just not the car or persona that I identify with. (although the Mission E is quite cool/scifi appearing for an e car) For me, american muscle is what I like and of course that is a personal preference too.

As far as ADM, a lot of dealers I have talked to (Florida/GA) do no even know if they are getting allocations. So far, the ones that are getting allocations are getting 1 and I've gotten anywhere between 15-25 ADM quotes. I've gotten less ADM quotes, but no confirmation of actual allocation. Since I wouldn't drive the wheels off a 67 GT500, Im definitely looking forward to getting a 2020 GT500.

Not here to condone ADM's but when was the last time that GM ever produced a Pony Car that actually commanded an ADM as it sure wasn't a 2014/2015 Z28 or your ZL1 1LE?

When was the last time that the Camaro outsold the Mustang aside from a month here or there? Been a long time and GM knows they have a serious problem with Mustang hammering Camaro year after year in sales volumes.

It all comes down to supply and demand with the demand being much greater for the last generation GT500's, Boss 302's, GT350/R's and now the upcoming 2020 GT500 thus unfortunately ADM's come into play.

I find it interesting that someone that owns a Camaro would come on to a Mustang forum and preach to us hard working individuals as to why we are so foolish for spending whatever amount of money for a Pony Car that we are all passionate about.

Couldn't agree more. Those that love Pony Cars, love them. It is "our thing". I will always be and have always been a pony fan. A colleague of mine, has no loyalty. He buys whatever he think is "cool" but I'm not sure he has ever changed oil in his life. He has went through an R8, GT3, Rousch stage 2, i8..... and still cant make his mind up.
I like the GT500, it is a dream car for me because since I was a child I have been in love with Elenor. And since I wouldnt drive a restored Elenor, Ill get a new GT500 to go with my other ponies.

That's a fair price. But you failed to specify which model and when you are going to get it (ie, 1st or 20th on the list).... push comes to shove, the CF model (Or any other for that matter) might have a more limited allocation. Tidy up the details my friend

if you want to see hutzpa, my local dealer has a 2013 302 Boss, 97 miles, Leguna edition for crazy money. Thing is dusty as hell. On the other hand, he's happy to sell you any of the dozen 2019 GTs at 20% off.

We cant get too specific until details are out, as the msrp dictates if over" X" i wont be getting i. and its the 1st one.
