Purchased my current Mustang GT new in March 2016. My previous vehicle (an SUV), was totaled in an accident with a Tesla that turned in front of me. My previous Mustang was a 1971 Mach 1. I only drive it on weekends when the weather is nice (no rain). Truly love it. My only regrets are I didn't purchase one with the Performance Package and Lightning Blue wasn't available in the 2016 MY. I am also thinking about purchasing an additional 2015 or 2016 GTPP this year to be used as a dedicated track car. Looking forward to the 650 that will coming out in the next few years. If I like the styling, I will purchase one, but will keep my 2016. So I may become a 3 Mustang family.

I guess i'll add my 2 cents.

I wanted a convertible for daily driving so I could leave the SUV at home until the weekends with the whole family. I like blue and I've never had a blue car, so I decided I wanted a blue convertible. Seriously considered a BMW hard top (3 and 4 series), a 997.2 Porsche (soft top) and the Mustang. I travel for work and end up renting cars, including the Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, and Charger. One of those work trips I rented a "baby blue" convertible Mustang Ecoboost. I loved the color, loved the experience. Year and a half later is when I'm looking to buy a blue convertible, so I learn about the Mustangs. BMW and Porsche would have been better fit for my profession (attorney), but I was scared of the repair/maintenance costs. Of the blues, the Mustang's Grabber Blue is my favorite, with BMW's Yas Marina Blue being second choice. So I started narrowing things down and I decided I wanted a Grabber Blue convertible Mustang. Since I wanted a new-ish used car, that narrowed it to 2017 year. I wanted white interior since all my cars have had black interiors and it gets insufferably hot here in Miami, and I figured a convertible would get even hotter. So white interior, 2017 Grabber Blue EcoBoost, automatic, convertible, premium. Not a lot of choices. Drove 300 miles each way to get the EcoBoost. It was well equipped but not fully loaded. First month or so added Roush exhaust, intake and tune. Then custom tune. Installed Eibach springs. A bunch of cosmetic mods. Less than 3 months into ownership, realized I wasn't happy with the EcoBoost and wanted more power. Back to the drawing board, this time looking for a 2017 Grabber Blue white interior fully loaded automatic convertible GT... had to go across multiple states and found on 1300 miles away in Missouri (I'm in South Florida...). Bought the car over the internet, sight unseen, and had it delivered to my home. I would have preferred a GT350, but I only wanted automatic and convertible so that wasn't an option. Now with the GT500 coming out, it will be a good contender but only if Grabber Blue or a similar blue is an option. Otherwise i'm staying put with the GT.

That's my story.

I was wanting to buy a new Mustang GT for years but never had the money or circumstances to get it. When the S550 came out, I said I have to have it, best looking car I'd ever seen! I factory ordered in Feb, 2015 because I wanted to pay only for the options I wanted and I did not want a car someone else beat on in a test drive. The rest is history and I still get excited to drive it every time I get in.

My now 15 is similar to my 98 SN-95 that some one was kind enough to crash into and not tell me. Black, stick with 5 spoke wheels. The 98 was black, stick with Cobra Rs. When I was looking, there were 2 used black Ecoboost coupes, the one I ended up with, and an automatic with tinted windows, PP wheels and an Airaid CAI. The pssh of the CAI was a bit loud for my taste and about $1K more in price, so I took the stick one instead. It's not been without its issues which is why I'm here. My 98 was more reliable but less powerful. Had I been able to modify it...

This is an easy one.

I owned a 2006 Mazda 3 S with the 2.3l and loved it.

I wanted another basic, but somewhat sporty, manual transmission car with cloth seats. The 2017 V6 Mustang was ultimately a great choice.

Compared to the usual suspects in that price range like the Civic, Corolla and Mazda 3, the V6 Mustang wins out on performance and makes a compelling case on price. It's much sportier than any of the three and at least as comfortable for front seat passengers. It's not bad on gas, especially on the highway or driven like an old lady.

Compared to more expensive Mustangs it has the same chassis, looks, body, paint, base interior, base suspension and brakes. The 17 inch tires are very comfortable for city driving and are a cheap enough size that I immediately swapped in fancy new Contis.

For about the cost of a Civic – not that there's anything wrong with that – I get a cool car that, while pokey compared to the fastest of 2019, exceeds what I couldn't afford when I was younger and would have been very high end performance just a few years ago when I was still ancient.

I mean whatever quick or fast is these days, it's just zero effort to get a ticket in this thing.

Even better, when I compare it to a - please no gasping, ridicule or flaming – 3 Series I get a car that will never use in maintenance or repair costs the difference in price between the two. Not to mention expected reliability and cost of parts and repairs, none of which favor the Germans these days.

I will happily do required maintenance at whatever early schedule I like and change out wear items well before their time. There will still be DWS indicators when I get another set of Contis. At the first hint of softness in the ride, on go the KYBs. A few mil off the rotors? Time for the Max Brakes kit. I'll change every fluid at a rate that would make Pat Goss proud. In ten years I'll have a car that performs much as it does today. I'll do all that and still have money in my pocket over the just the purchase price of a 3 Series or even a GT. Not that there's anything wrong with either.

I am a cheap old guy. I really just wanted a basic inexpensive manual transmission car with cloth seats.

What I got was a very good looking, high performing, great handling, well balanced, comfortable, reliable, fuel efficient world class car for the cost of a nice economy car.

Fellow geezers are complimentary of it, 10 year old boys on bicycles are impressed by it, and old ladies dig it. Hell, I'd get another one just on principle.

At the time I crashed my daily, a Honda CR-Z. I had my Evo which I still have, but it was blown up (big surprise) and I needed to replace the daily. It was a daily for short while, and thankfully I have put maybe 50 miles on it in 3 months.

I knew I would go V8 RWD manual coupe - Meaning Challenger, Camaro, or Mustang. I'd done all the import stuff I wanted.

Never drove a Camaro - reason being I like the 14-15 body the best. Yet the 6th gen interior is a million times better, and the 6th gen is just the better car. So, if I would get the facelift 5th gen, I'd love the way car looked, but knowing I got the inferior Camaro in every other aspect. Hate the 6th gen body, so no go.

Challenger, I simply didn't know about the Scatpack. I knew the V6, RT, SRT, and Hellcat. I drove an RT, and while I still prefer the Challenger's interior over a Stang, I had to feel the difference in 375 HP at 4200 lbs against 435 at 3600. The difference in pull made the choice. That said, had I known about the Scatpack I for sure would've gotten that over a Stang.

And well my decision. When Ferd came out with the S550 they hit a homerun. Car looked amazing. I always wanted one in the back of my mind. Also the Coyote was praised highly since 2011, and now a better version was put into a very sexy car? Hmmm. It also has an import like power delivery, right up my alley. My particular one is a magnetic base manual. Inoffensive non-regrettable color, I only drive manuals, and I only like cloth seats. Perfect.

That said, I'm not a Ford dude, or a Mustang dude. I like a clean New Edge, with the black trunk panel, especially in the color sunburst gold metallic, infact I painted a previous car I owned that color. I literally don't give a damn about the rest of the Mustangs, they're okay at best, and even the 18 update, makes me not a fan. Also the future Stangs, eceltric, SUV, CUV, 4 door, definitely don't care about any of that mess either.

My 27-year old son, who had mental health issues and was living with us, passed away in March. My daughter finished school this summer and started her first job in a good profession. It had always been in the back of my mind to buy a Mustang, Camaro, or Challenger as soon as I retired. But since we had become empty nesters, I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on something more fun than a crossover.

I still have a fairly long commute so I was initially considering a hot hatch of some sort and deferring V8 gas mileage until retirement. In doing research I was pleasantly surprised to find the V6 Mustangs and Camaros made more power than I realized. In the end I really fell for the S550 styling and didn't like the lack of visibility in the Camaro. I bought a used, low mileage V6 on the cheap and love it.

My favorite car has always been a mustang. Our neighbors had a green '67 fastback and my Mom had a yellow 6 cylinder '68 that was gone before I was old enough to drive. After the last kid got out of college and after owning 4 or 5 minivans in a row, I told my wife I wanted my dream car. It just so happened that the s550's came out about the same time. I ordered mine, Race Red, 50 yr package, GT Premium automatic. After nearly 4 years, 45,000 miles and a few mods I'm still just as thrilled to own it as I was the day I picked it up.

Weirdly enough I was never really a mustang or american car guy at all until the s550 came out. It was the first mustang I actually liked.

Was also never a v8 person (drove 4cyl cars all my life) so I was just used to it and their gas mileage. I adored Japanese cars growing up, mostly Evos, STi's.

My previous car got flooded from a hurricane so I was in a market for a new car. My previous cars were all hatchback econboxes so I told myself I wanted a sports coupe. LIke yah I guess I could've gotten a new WRX but I wanted a coupe. Ended up with a 15 Ecoboost.

Hearing the turbo spooling and BOVs reminded me of my love of all the Japanese turbo cars I loved as a kid.

I was in the market for a "newer car" and having a family wanted a sporty four door at first. I narrowed my search down to a Chevy SS sedan with the 415hp LS3. But I also kept thinking of a Challenger or Mustang. After convincing myself that a Challenger or Mustang would be selfish I set up a visit to a dealer in Columbus Georgia to view two they had. I got on Ebay to view the photos that morning before driving down. Welp...Ebay had me type Mustang in the search bar one more time and it pulled up a 16 GT with a Roush phase II and other mods with 39k miles for 29k. I hit the buy now button a flew to Florida to drive it home. I choose the Mustang cuz 85% of the time I drive solo and still have my Tahoe and Wife's Kia Sorrento for family transportation.

I had recently sold my Mercedes E550 coupe. Was looking to get either a new Mercedes coupe, or another Porsche.

My pal suggested I drive a new Mustang, and I did. Was impressed by the overall package: power, handling, ride, etc. Sure, it has a fairly crude & primitive interior, but for a daily running errands, etc., car it's fine. Thought about the stick V. automatic question. Then drove the auto, and it was a no-brainer to get one. Coupe, because we already have a few convertibles, and I prefer the superior driving characteristics of a coupe body for my everyday car.

Not turning it into a Christmas tree, with mods & goofy add-ons. Just drive it... After a year and a half, it's been absolutely perfect.

And it looks good in the garage beside our small collection of German & British cars. :like::like:
