My 27-year old son, who had mental health issues and was living with us, passed away in March.
I'm so very sorry for your loss. Having lost my 25 year old daughter to Cystic Fibrosis about a year and a half ago, I know there is no greater pain than losing a child. Even with their health issues and knowing they are in a far better place, it's still so hard to say goodbye. I wish you and your family the best. Cheers to many happy miles in that Mustang!

Cause it's the best looking Mustang since the 66 fastback.
This. Or the '69....

I fell in love with the S550 after seeing it in the flesh the first time in 2014 at a new car show. Stood there just staring at it and knew I'd be ordering one new, where my previous Mustangs had all been lightly used.

I knew I'd never find a PP with red innards with no other options, so it was game on the week of New Year 2015. The show car was silver and was a PP car and that was my first choice for color over red, but at the time of ordering I had no plans for changing wheels (see how that worked out, lol) and thought the stupid black wheels were too much contrast. Then I saw a couple of other cars in Magnetic, which looked far better with the black wheels, and the choice was made.

Well our 2019 is our 3rd vehicle so it is not a DD but something to cruise in on nice days. We are transitioning from riding Harleys to the convertible. It is our first car in 35 years ( we have always had trucks ) and were hesitant because we were not sure we would like being so low to the ground ... LOL ... So the Summer of 2017 a son of a friend of ours rented a new Corvette convertible for a weekend and we happen to be at our friends house when he stopped by. He took me for a ride and his Wife took my Wife for a ride in the Vette. We both agreed it was a blast and I would be looking what convertibles were being built from all car companies. In the Fall of 2017 we saw a 2017 California Special Edition on a dealers website and fell in love with it. So we watched it online all Winter because we weren’t going to buy it and store it. We figured if it sold we would get a 2018 ... plus I wanted to rent one to see if we liked it. Fast forward to early March 2018 .... I since broke my left leg and was on crutches and we were out shopping and my Wife was driving. We dropped into the dealer and the 2017 was still there and I asked if they rented Mustangs and they said no. So I asked if we could test drive one ( didn’t tell them we have been eyeing the 2017 ) and they brought out a 2018 5.0 Hardtop. We freaking LOVED IT ! So ... when we got back from the test drive I asked to drive the CE 2017 Convertible and they said OK ... Freaking loved it more than the hardtop. I also didnt tell them I did my due diligence with pricing and options. Sadly in 2018 they did not offer the California Special ... so the salesperson made a HUGE mistake and said the 2019’s would be out in July and the CE is a possibility. I looked over to my Wife and said lets wait so we could order what we wanted. She agreed and I also found out that through my work place we get just under invoice pricing. So we decided to order a 2019 at a dealer 5 miles from our house ( one we were at was 15 miles away ) My Wife’s wants were ... California Special Edition and Active Exhaust ... Mine were 5.0, the B&O sound system.... the 10 speed auto was a MUST because my Wife did not know how to drive a manual and at 58 years I wasnt going to make her learn ... LOL ... Lastly ... while we were ordering it the salesperson said anything else ? I looked over at my Wife and said ... I really love the digital dash but we really didnt need it. She said just go for it ... so we did ! Ordered it in April and picked it up August 3rd. Love the plate ;-) ... and yes ... we built a 24’x32’ garage fir it ... LOL ...

My prior toy was a Porsche Turbo S. It was scary fast. Could spin all 4 tires doing 60 mph. Even though It's a cool car, the sound of the 19 GT brought me back to my earlier years. I actually like it much better for a daily driver. Also enjoying the magnetic metallic over the black color.

This spring I had an opportunity to sell my daily (2008 Honda Fit) to my in-laws for my niece to take to college - a good deal for both of us. They would get a car with a known history and top notch maintenance, I would get a better than trade-in price. Win-win, as long as I could find a replacement before she left at the end of July. By April, I had already been shopping for a while, and was close to a coin-flip between a Mustang and an Alfa Romeo Giulia - yeah, not exactly peas in a pod, but the Alfa dealer 2 miles from the house was doing great rebates and I've always wanted an Alfa. The primary requirements were white exterior (because Texas), performance suspension (Magneride or Alfa Active), and decent mileage (because commuter). So, an EBPP or Giulia Sport/Ti. Great - right up until my wife convinced me to include the driver assist features for the commute. Now the Alfa was nearly $10K more than the Mustang, so the Alfa was out.

Now the job was finding an EBPP with those features. Turns out there were none within 1,000 miles of the DFW area, so I looked at ordering. The 2018 model year was closed at this point, and 2019 hadn't opened up yet, so I started looking for ANY EBPP with Magneride to see what was out there while I worked on the order. About half way between DFW and Houston, a small dealership had a special order that had been abandoned by the customer and it had everything I was looking for, but with the A10. After test driving an EB with the A10, I decided I could live with that combo. Within a couple weeks, I canceled the 2019 order because it was going to take too long, and I made the 2.5 hour trip to pick up the 2018.

Even though the 2018 wasn't equipped exactly the way I would have ordered the 2019, I've learned to live with the premium interior, Shaker, and enhanced security. Everything else is exactly what I wanted, and the car has been a real joy to live with over the last 7 months.

How do you like the A10? Was it that good you didn't mind not getting a stick?

Was waiting for the new GT500 to hit the streets so I could buy one (only if they had an auto). When the 18 GT arrived with the new gen 3 and A10 just couldn't wait any longer. Figured I could install a blower, supporting mods with E85 and be as fast as the stock new GT500 (and have money left over).

I wanted an 18 Kona Blue 301A with A10 & 3.55's. I was on the fence about active exhaust, but glad mine came with it. Ended up with the black Appearance package too, which I could've done without. My dealer had to trade due to limited stock, with a dealer 155 miles away.

I ordered mine cuz nobody had just what I wanted, and I wanted just what I wanted. EB for better mileage, lighter weight/better balance/handling, lower insurance, base model cuz the premium was too much $ for too many bells & whistles that I didn't want half of them anyway and they'd just be more weight and complexity, stick shift cuz Stang, performance pack for bigger wheels stiffer suspension and extra gauges, Lightning Blue and top stripes to find it at a glance in the parking lot.

The A10 was solid enough on the test drive that I would have ordered a ‘19 with it as well. I’ve driven sticks almost exclusively for the last 25+ years, but city commuting has worn me out. The A10 shifts great from light throttle through drag mode, and I’m sold.

That said, I’m not about to convert my old Plymouth to auto, that car was meant to have manual gears. But for a daily/ urban driver, the A10 is awesome.

This is intended more toward those who purchased new, but if you bought used and found exactly what you wanted please chime in. Did you order it or got lucky and found exactly what you wanted, or just picked one at random off the lot?
I bought it because I wanted it.

And I ordered because I almost never buy off the lot. Since dealers automatically try to find one, I know that so far (since the mid '70s) none have ever been able to find my exact car at some other dealer they could get it from, but its fun to watch them try.

It was a lucky thing I liked it better than any Camaro or Challenger because my son works at Ford HQ although I'm not sure he could actually remove himself from my will in protest.

Sometimes it depends on who is doing the defining (SCAA) "The Mustang is a sedan. Don't like it? Take it up with the Sports Car Club of America, which classifies the Mustang in the "American Sedan" class. The Mustang was always a sedan. It has always been a sedan. It always will be a sedan, unless it changes significantly. If the word "sedan" offends you, then choose the term "pony car," which is also fine and respects the Mustang's unique role in history as a sporting sedan variant of a non-sporting sedan, in this case the Ford Falcon."

I think Coupe fits the official definition (merriam-webster.com) just fine, considering the cramped, near unusable back seat:
coupé
noun
cou·pé | \ sense 1 is kü-ˈpā, sense 2 is ˈküp, kü-ˈpā \
variants: or coupe
Definition of coupé

1: a four-wheeled closed horse-drawn carriage for two persons inside with an outside seat for the driver in front

2usually coupe : a 2-door automobile often seating only two persons also : one with a tight-spaced rear seat

sedan
noun
se·dan | \si-ˈdan \
Definition of sedan
(Entry 1 of 2)

1: a portable often covered chair that is designed to carry one person and that is borne on poles by two people

2a: a 2- or 4-door automobile seating four or more persons and usually having a permanent top
