Wifey said she'd drive it, so I bought it.

I think she has driven it (Mustang) twice in 2 years........................:curse:

The main reason people buy an auto seems to be having dodgy knees or due to traffic, which makes perfect sense. Otherwise having to paddle shift 10 gears would drive me round the bend.

The perks of having a V6 that ford killed off since the 10R80 wasn't out yet.

Drove manuals forever, my 2010 gt was a manual. I mad the switch to auto with my 15 LE and when I replace it with a 18 I went auto also. All my trucks are auto now also. To be honest I was just tied of the hastle in traffic. I drove a friend's Focus RS from Mississippi back to VA and it was fun for a change (mostly interstate) but it didn't have me wanting a manual again.

The only guy that said "should of got a manual" to me was a clueless very young guy that owns a Tesla Model 3. Having owned over a dozen manual cars, I picked the best tranny for my driving.

I've owned 35 cars; sixteen were Automatics. Over a 67-year driving history I've had a taste or two of both kinds of transmissions, and recognize the virtues and shortcomings of each. I didn't need any more experience before choosing the 10-speed automatic in my 2018 GT. I can be lazy and ignore the transmission, letting it go on about its business, which it does quite well. Or, I can diddle with it to get the car into a more aroused state.

Best of both potentials. The only thing I sacrifice (beyond punishing my clutch foot) is freedom from the ill-conceived derision of closed-head always-a-manual-no-matter-what proponents of a technology that is ready for its burial eulogy.

Because it's my DD and I live in a city with some of the worst traffic in the nation, and more hills than I feel like fucking with. I own 2 manuals(my 94 cobra and my t5 swapped 68) so if i want a stick, I have one. But as a DD, it loses its appeal real fucking fast when you sit in traffic for 2 hours.

You do know it's called an "automatic" because it shifts on it's own? Not only faster but much, much easier on drive train components.
