Put in the GT350 steering wheel bezel on, which looks a lot better. Plus always had my Vol controls on the left, and computer info on the right like it should have been. So, now that the 18's are out got the correct button control module for left and right.

Meh. I know where this dude is coming from but the ads now play regardless.

But...

If they post as a reply they then have to respond to complaints in the forums and resolve in public. This in my mind if preferable. And it is the way of the future...

As for me I did nothing to my Stang today except make a decision. A V6 Mustang! Now I had a health scare a few weeks ago and if I had advanced cancer I actually had a Corvette Z06 lined up for purchase. Biopsy turn out benign so I have the V6 for at least 2 years. But now that the 6 is EOL I may finally splurge and do a substantial modification. Talking forced induction. The 6 may not be collector car material but it offers some serious horsepower increases with a turbo or supercharger. When I drove the 5.0s I never had the urge to do something as radical as this! But the motor seems stout enough and you only live once (had to add that in there) and some guys do the work for a living here in Toronto in obscure business parks, so why not? And like so many others, I am proud of my little V6 and will keep the exterior totally stock down to the frumpy 17 inch rims they now saddle the base EcoBoost with:

Yes everyone will say that but I’m not interested in grip from a dig. Roll racing at best but I won’t even bother with that. It’s just an itch I want to scratch because back in the day these mods would never give you a proper driving car. Sure I would probably put some Mickey Thompsons on dedicated rear wheels at the drag strip. It is just for kicks and something to do and talk about with other car guys. And only like only ten grand to do it.

Plus remember I’m pushing 60 and nobody raises an eyebrow with me and the V6 Mustang or a Corvette or an exotic. But a 5.0 with scoops and a rear wing and frying pan rims just looks silly at my age. Hell, I didn’t do that back in the Fox Body days as I drove two 5.0 LXs. I just want to try this and as inconspicuously as possible. I floated the idea to an acquaintance a few months ago and he said: “Aren’t you a bit old for that?” And that is the attitude for a guy like me. So a Q ship V6 Mustang. But I still reserve the right of the original plan to keep the V6 as a daily and buy a base Corvette for the weekend.


BTW: I’m a base car kind of guy (full zoot Mustang or Camaro or base Corvette - base Corvette every time even if you have to stretch the funds).

Normally I would agree but unlike most here I actually have some cash in the bank. It’s an itch to scratch that is all. Plus, if you add up all the mods people do here to get incremental improvements in performance, 10 grand for twice the horsepower makes more sense. Check out the posts here and add up the cost for suspension, exhaust, stripes and see how much more what I’m thinking of doing will cost and the performance gain I get as opposed to the other guys.

Before I permanently hang up my car keys, it would me nice to really make major mods to a car and fiddle with it forever. If it breaks I have a Buick Enclave to drive instead.


Total cost in American dollars will be about 27,500.00 (I just went through all the numbers) all told for a car that has almost 600 horsepower. I bought the V6 through fleet sales. Plus the EOL V6 is a one shot deal as the EcoBoost can’t get those numbers no matter what you do - so why not?
