It’s a used 2016 Audi S3 prestige 10k miles for 38k the thing that worries me is it looks like the resale value is worse then the mustang . The 18 gt premium I ordered is 42k and comes with CarPlay and better gauges etc

Idk I like the Audi but my only reason for a backseat is my dog nothing else. Snow tires on mustang I would be fine . The s3 is a fun little car though and a tuned one o think will beat the new gt to 0-60
This tells me all I would need to know. The Mustang without a doubt.

Havnt read the entire thread yet, but as a huge Audi fan and a director for the Audi Club of North America my vote is for the RS3.

Just so you know, an E85 tune, with intake, intercooler, and exhasut runs high 10s..

Both the mustang and RS3 are capable on the track. The Audi will have a considerably nicer interior and fit and finish. Consumable *might* be higher on the audi but doubtful.

Audi is just a fancy Volkswagen Get the Mustang
And a Porsche 911 is just a fancy Beetle.. ;)

VW owns some of the best cars on the market - Porsche, Audi, Bugatti, Bentley, Lamborghini...

Just becuase a few parts are shared, does not mean it is simply rebadged. They are designed, engineered, and developed by their seperate entities.

What refinement is a Mustang lacking in comparison to a BMW?
Cabin road noise, quality of materials, fit and finish, bumper/body panel alignment, driver - instrument ergonomics, cabin creaks.

All of those off the top of my head (compared to my Audis).

It terms of refinement I mean the way everything is put together seamlessly. This includes the exterior and interior panels as well as the ergonomics of the cabin layout. That being said one of the reasons for this is that BMW is basically using the same interior and basic exterior it has for the past 10 years with little change. Since things have not changed much it does feel a bit boring and dated.

While everything is put together nicely it doesn't mean that the BMWs are without issue. We have had a couple BMWs over the years and the current one is the worst car (BMW or not) we have ever had for creaks and rattles.

I looked at BMWs as well and the interiors all look the same and haven’t been majorly updated it seems
They do nothing for me except for the M5 and M6 and I'm not planning on dropping $130K on a daily driver anytime soon.

Jesus Christ, I never let my 2 little dogs near my Mustang. They shed and lick all the windows in no time. Even with a dog cover in the back, hair gets everywhere once the windows are down.

My Jetta has the dog seat cover in the back and they can have all the fun they want in there. I always have a beater to drive luckily for dogs, short errands..etc. My Jetta is a '14 SE and it's been a great car.

I think I'm about to order an RS3. I LOVE mustangs and truly want one; however, living in the NYC area, I need AWD as I typically have to drive a decent amount for work (attorney). Also, clients probably get a better impression in a German sports car than an awesome muscle car (right or wrong, a $2k suit in Mustang doesn't mesh). If I had 2 parking spaces or didn't need a winter car, then I'd do Mustang all day.

Which reminds me, I need to move to somewhere where two spots isn't going to run me $500/mo

mustang with snow tires does great. the awd is just piece of mind i think. for me its the 4 door vs 2 . Most people would want the 4 doors for a family not me just my dog lol

Own a '17 GT Premium and '14 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro S-Line. Audi has been problem-free since day-1 thru 60k miles. Built well, sporty, looks good, handles well, plenty of power, and great gas mileage.

So I have a 18 mustang gt on order (10 speed) how ever I will be driving 40 miles each way to work now in Chicago . The gas truly isn't my concern. I truly only have one and that's I take my 80 pound shepherd to the dog park weekly. Can this be done in the mustang?

The only other car I am considering is a 16 Audi S3 which is a nice little 4 door and with a tune does 0-60 same as the mustang. Just doesn't have the top end .
I traded a 2005 Audi S4 Cab (6 spd) for my 2016 GT (6 spd). No major problems with the Audi, but the Mustang is much more fun to drive. Lots more power. My right knee was always rubbing the center console in the Audi.

I averaged about 20.1 MPG in the audi and I'm getting 26.8 MPG in the GT.

I am kind of in the same boat. I currently have a 2015 Mustang Ecoboost. Looking to make a move to a new car this spring. I was all set to get a GT but, I am thinking about maybe an S3. I live in the northeast and currently DD my mustang. I dont really like driving it in the winter if I get a GT will most likely have to get another car for some of the bad days. I am thinking maybe just getting an S3 and be done with it, use it all the time. My wife has an A4 and its great in the snow, but no power lol. Will probably testy drive one before I make the call on the GT.
