With a tune the 2.0T A4s can dip low into the 13s in a quarter mile.

Im not sure what a V6 runs in the quarter stock, but my lightly modded 2012 Mazdaspeed3 (big intake, secondary cat delete, intercooler, and E85 tune) ate that thing for lunch 3 separate times.
I had a Mazdaspeed 3 as well (2010), no mods. Once turbo kicked in, it was fast. But my V6 mustang feels faster than it, maybe its the NA and smoother linear power delivery whereas the MS3 I had to wait for turbo.

I try to do practical for my dailys. I had an 11 V6 as a daily driver. It was probably the best daily I've ever owned. High 13s in the 1/4. Great ride and handling. 3.7 was a solid little motor. Shame there's not enough market space for all of them. I mean personally I think there is. But Ford disagrees.

The EB's engine will send it to its own grave.

"Only" 300hp? Oh lawd how times have changed. My V6 had something like 190HP from the factory.
I bought a used 94' Mustang V6 in 99' with the old 3.8l. It had 145hp and had head gasket issues. My brother bought a new 2000 GT which was like 260hp and I remember thinking WOW 260HP!

And that is exactly why I love my V6. Great daily driver, it has a lot of power for a car that was only $21k, it looks damn sexy especially once I blacked it all out. It's 2 years old already but this thing still turns head. Probably the most fun in a car ive had in ever, my MS3 was fun but I got really tired of the turbo and the hatchback styling.

Anyways, I'm still wondering if my V6 Mustang can beat a Geo Metro.

Why? Your EB is faster.
Speed isn't everything.. and no, it probably isn't. With a tune, sure.. but stock for stock I'd say they're dead even. The EB feels faster at first because of the low end torque.. but in a EB, half throttle and full throttle feel practically the same and the drop off in the high rpms is very disappointing.

What I want the most beyond the power delivery tho, is the sound. A V6 with long tubes, H pipe and Borla's = sex on wheels. I don't care how fast some one can make the EB, it will never sound like a muscle car and it doesn't really sound like any of the "cool" tuners either like a Evo or a STi.. Lol, sounds more like a throatier SOHC Honda with a fart can minus the vtec.

Ive owned two 2012 Mazdaspeed3s and I wouldnt say there is any lag in stock or modded form. Sure there isnt as much power immediately off idle, but it is a 2.3l four cylinder. By 2k rpm there is sufficient power to get the car moving quickly.

Just doing a few quick google image searches of stock MS3 and V6 dynos - the MS3 will make 200ft lbs at 2500K rpms where the V6 mustang must rev to 4500rpm to make the same power. The MS3 also makes a higher peak HP figure, and appears to have more area under the curve.

In my example where I put bus lengths on a stock V6, I was making over 300 wheel HP and torque with a usable powerband from 3000-6500rpms.

I don't really consider anything running e85 lightly modded. An e85 tune by itself can drastically transform a car.

Intake, tune, and exhaust-well secondary cat delete not a full exhaust. It's pretty much the most basic combination you can have. Not to mention E 85 means a 3 gallon mix of E with 10 gallons of 93.

It hurts to see threads like this. Putting out a massive list of cars you might compete against is the inferiority complex that comes with owning a V6 Mustang. Who cares? Are you seriously going to be drag racing every BRZ, GTI and god-forbid Nissan Altima you see on the street? This is the kind of shit that you do when you're a junior in high school and are trying to look hard. It goes nowhere but traffic court, money down the drain, and a tail between your legs.

To answer your question, this ultimately is going to come down to power:weight ratio. If you make more power per pound, you'll likely be quicker. Do the math!

But seriously if you are comparing your car to an Altima or a Civic you're doing it wrong.

True, and you have to use Premium to get the advertised HP.

You can always trade to get a V6, they are hella cheap (cheaper than EB) but of course you will lose out on all the interior goodies, and it may not be a good financial decision. if you are going to trade, might as well trade up to a GT.

As for the sound, you have a point. The V6 does sound great especially with aftermarket exhaust, hell I liked the stock V6 sound.

But EB is the future so good to stick with it as long as you can.

Honestly I feel like they should keep the V6 and add a premium to it so that there are more choices for the buyer. It adds that flexibility and level of customization that the buyer can choose.

It seems like anytime there's a thread about V6 Mustangs this sort of crap always comes up on this board. The thread title is pretty obvious. As a V6 owner I'm interested in the discussion, but wading through the usual GT owner's potshots from the sidelines has gotten pretty lame...
